For the record, I quite like the warp to 0 km system. However, none of the old-style bookmarks (even a new one I made of a station) work anymore. This causes a problem for people who had safe spots bookmarked, POSes, a particular spot in an asteroid field, or any other kind of location that can't be easily selected through other sources.
So, what happens on TQ when safe spots can't be accessed anymore? What about getting to one's POS without having to warp to the moon first and then travel to where the tower was anchored? What about getting back to cans (wrecks) after you've reported mission completion? Etc.
I hope there's going to be a way around these problems when Revelations is released. For instance, will anchored corp assets be listed so that you can choose them as warp-to targets? As for safe spots and post-mission loot, that could be a lot more troublesome.

Edited by: Neru Hatakani on 07/11/2006 19:55:29 They are specifically dsiabled on SiSI, bookmarks that is. Even if CCP will intorduce warp to 0 option on TQ, we will have a warning that all the other BM.s will be disabled, or, more logically, CCP will disable only BMs around Stations and Gates, leaving all other BMs functional.
Oh, and I absolutley love the warp to 0 system.

Edited by: Christopher Dalran on 07/11/2006 20:01:35 They arent doing away with bookmarks, just removing the coordinates from all existing bookmarks. You will still be able to make new safespots and bookmark enemy pos's and locations over again. Its just everyones player file will be flooded with tons of useless and unecessary bookmarks that use up resources and cause lag. They are useless because of the new warp to 0 function, all those station and gate instas are meaningless now.
And trust me, you DONT want to delete them all manually with cords attached. It takes just as long to remove them as it does to copy them.

here we go again :)
I do not think they should delete some BM's at all. I think they need a wipe. sure its a hassle but the lag is not worth it. I also beleive it would be beneficial to limit book marks using a skill system similar to the way corp members are. Limit Book Marks HERE!!! |

So, the answer is that we don't know yet what will be done with the old bookmarks once Revelations is released. That's sort of scary.

I understand the bookmark system. I understand limiting a player from having so many stored.
But what the h-ll is wrong with just typing in coordinates and warping to them?
YES! You can pass on the spot to EVERYONE. But with such complicated spaceships and interfaces, a capsule pilot has to have a way to manually direct his ship to a spot at x-y-z coordinates.
You should still be able to bookmark these locations, but it would be a redundant system (redundancy is sometimes a good thing), where a player can simply know the coordinate, or warp to.
This would also make it easier for gangs. The warp-to option is often bugged, so why not allow gang-leaders to use coordinates?
Bah, too easy. Never going to happen. But I think it should ...

By the way, from what I can tell on Singularity, it's currently voiding bookmarks either once you log out or when you log back in again. If you make a bookmark to anything, even a static object like a station, it works fine until you log out. Once you come back on, it's no good just like all the others.

I believe the warp to 0 is good, but disable the bms near the gates and stations only i have bms in systems in many regions some of these bms are for ammo storage in enemy held space like pf-346. these bms work for war and should not suffer for the other bms. if given a chance i would volentarly remove my bms for gates if the warp to zero was to be put into the real server.

Edited by: Auk Monnan on 08/11/2006 06:23:12 I know its standard procedure to ignore miners when making these decisions, but without bookmarks to spots in belts, mining will suffer, prices will rise, inflation pressures will set in, and the EVE economy will collapse.
Well, maybe I am exaggerating a little, but BM's are used for so much more than quicker, safer travel.
I also wonder what could be wrong with just entering coordinates. The worst exploit I can think of is somebody using long hand math and directional scanning to triangulate a position, which is the hard way of doing what scan probes already do.
