Looking at the alliance map over the past....well ages tbh, noones claimed stain for a very long time.
Was wondering what was happening, usually 0.0 space doesnt go unclaimed for ages ANYWAY, let alone a region next to the 2 great superpowers, BOB and ASCN.
Are there any reasons why noones claimed the area? I know nothing about whats ahappening down there, never even visited. Is theres lots of small corps fighting over it? is theres just too many NPC stations to be able to control it? Or does the region just suck? :D
Local stain people your turn ;)

Neither BoB or ASCN can claim it (without giving up most of the regions they already have).
It's a load of NPC stations, spread out in an area much wider than any other region.
To claim whole of Stain, you'd need something like a 2000 member alliance living in the area fulltime.
Am I forced to have any regret? I've become the lie, beautiful and free In my righteous own mind I adore and preach the insanity you gave to me |

Stain is the region with perhaps the most npc stations in the game. Its a nightmare to control. The DSS-> 4gq pipe is ok to control, but then you have all the branches and ofc Deep stain, wich is a even bigger nightmare to control.
I dont think that there will ever be a alliance able to claim that region due to all sheer size of it.

also it does not help that the ore over there sucks.
but for small allaiance or a large corp it can be a dream place to live in if they just stake a station and stick with it. the place has more rabbit holes than any other place in 0.0

It did, but there's less incentive for people to go back if they lose a fight. Reasoning being 'What's in it for us?' to which the answer usually is 'Nothing'.
TSDS, AAA, Coalition of Carbearkillers, D2, ASCN all have corp's there plus a few miscilanious Pvp corps all have a presance there.
Try and claim Stain at your peril.

I haven't lived there for a few month now, but I came to this conclusion while I was there. Too many NPC station for anyone except a "LARGE" entity that is almost 100% focused on keeping it clean.

The only allience that had a real valid claim on Stain, ever in its history would have been the old school SA, during the days that CA existed.
Since then anyone with there name on the map, have been able to say so because no one else was making a claim for the regions. There entity's simply weren't large enough, or good enough or organised enough to have controlled stain if someone else wanted in.
As said before, the area has so many NPC station, no one but the biggest alliences can effectivly claim it.

That was mainly because back in the day, the key was owing DSS, as that was the ONLY way in. CCP added a few smuggler gates and then stations in paragon soul, esoteria, which changed things.
It's virtually imposible to claim that reason and there is 0 incentive to do so.

Hmm, i must have presset post reply before the entire text was posted, it most certainly wasn't ment to be: heh.
Anyhow, stain is a funny place, alot of outlaws, small corps and big alliances live out there, and it's in general a very mixed place with alot of different people in each new system you enter.
The main reason that no ally is holding it is that whey can't controle who can dock at the station and who can't. BoB and ASCN do regular gank gangs out there, in hope of catching forumwhoring ratters :)
Posting and you!
