Hi folks,
I'd like to try WH hunting, since I've saved some money and spotted a suitable group. For now I think a Stratios is my best bet. I'm used to drone gameplay and I like the design.
However I don't know if I should build it with dual repper or a 1600mm plate. I don't know if I could handle both Sleeper's and target's fire with a dual-rep fit, on the other hand I'm not used to buffer fit.
With double repper I got an AB fit to improve cap and help my tanking with sig tank. And with the 1600mm I'd use a MWD which could allow me to "quickly" run if things are getting bad. It has around 50k EHP which is not bad, but still relatively weak.
What do you guys think ? |

If it's for PvE I've found plate + 1 rep and AB works pretty well. Not ideal mind you, but it goes ok in low class holes. |

Maybe I didn't explain very well. I'm looking for a ganking fit. |

Right. Well, plate + ancillary rep is still a good option, but yeah, I'd want an MWD. PG may be an issue if you're trying to fit neuts in the highs. cbf plugging it into EFT.

Here's what I come up with. Without any boost or implants :
522 DPS with Garde and Conflagration 52.4k EHP 1226 m/s
The DPS is ok, but I got less neut pressure than I expected and I don't think it can kills well tanked farmers. The fit is extra-tight even with an RCU, I'd really love to free this low slot form more DPS.

Wow, this thread is only 5 posts in and already has some top notch advice in it...
The best way to fit a solo/small gang PVP Stratios is armour buffer + neuts. You get 60k EHP out of a Stratios pretty easily while still being able to fit 3x medium neuts. When you're hunting PVE ships, the 3 neuts are more than enough to cap out anything you're likely to run into in the lower classes. They don't shut off missiles obviously but PVE tengus are not know for their tank once they have no cap.
This is the fit I have been using and am a big fan of:
Quote:[Stratios, Cloaky] 1600mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I Imperial Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane Imperial Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane Damage Control II Drone Damage Amplifier II
Experimental 10MN Microwarpdrive I 10MN Afterburner II Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I Faint Epsilon Warp Scrambler I Medium Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Navy Cap Booster 800
Covert Ops Cloaking Device II Sisters Core Probe Launcher, Core Scanner Probe I Medium Unstable Power Fluctuator I Medium Unstable Power Fluctuator I Medium Unstable Power Fluctuator I
Medium Ancillary Current Router II Medium Trimark Armor Pump II Medium Trimark Armor Pump II
Gecko x2
Note that this fit requires a 5% grid implant which people seem to get all huffy about. If you don't want to fork out for one, you can drop the afterburner and if all fits with a 1% implant.
Fit gets 60k EHP and 450 DPS with Geckos. Fill the rest of the bay with an assortment of drones to taste.
(Midgrade slave add 11k EHP for the fancier pilots.)
You can use this just fine against other PVP ships too, just be aware that you do relly on your neuts to shut down incoming DPS of larger ships and on your drones for DPS.
Overall I like this ship a lot and would recommend it over ANY cloaky T3 ship/fit.
Your engagement profile is obviously still limited but is made a lot broader by your full rack of neuts. You're also faster and more agile than an armour T3 which makes a big difference.
Fly with a mobile depot in cargo along with an armour rep to fix up between fights and spare drones.

Neutted you out just fine when you tried to awox me while I was afking it up innocently at the pos.

(on a serious note, I agree with the advice in this thread, as someone who used to fly a shield Strat. I've seen how successful Jack's fit is and friends have used it with similar success too. +1)

Nice, have to refit my stratios now ;(
If you go storyline for neuts and cap booster you can drop the pg implant and fit some omega instead. I reckon a set of talismans would be useful for that extra neuting. A set of mid-graders is dirt cheap.

But but. I like my cloaky 110 gj/s 200k ehp legion. |

I've seen dual rep fits before too but they have the issue of not being able to engage against other PVP ships almost at all and the tank isnt great. I've also looked into a plate + rep fit (i do this on my proteus to great effect) but you lose too much DPS if you drop the damage mod and you sacrifice a neut for it which i really don't like. The tank from even a c-type rep is only ~200ish which isnt great and your cap life suffers a lot. PS: Never, ever, fly a covops legion as anything other than a joke...
I love the dual prop idea but it requires an expensive implants. I think I'll remove a trimark to add a 2nd ACR. I lower my EHP to 50k but given the sig tank it provides me I think it's better than a single prop MWD version.

That's word for word what I've done. Thanks for the dual prop set up, I'm going to try it as soon as possible. |

I figured with strong drugs and pimpy reppers an active fit would be far superior. It didn't stand up to... playtesting however.
Too many ganks are really just you chewing down on bait and incoming DPS is quickly too much in my experience.
I like the buffer neut fit Miton posted, most of my corpies run something similar and it performs pretty well.
For a jaded ISKFit I think the shield fits floating around would be fun, but they're not really what OP is looking for. |
