I was killed AGAIN by lag-in pirates AGAIN while trying to go pick up some goods in Todaki! ERRRF!! There's another 5.8 million isk down the drain because of the jerks named Billy Bob and The General. CCP needs to put some penalty of some sort, like banning (hint hint) on pirates who abuse the lag that drones cause to people with just the minimum requirements on their computers. Dont any of you DARE tell me to buy a new computer or I'll beat the living daylights out of you, I'm sick of this! - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

You'd think autopilot would take care of that wouldn't you? *bashes* Of course, I'd enjoy taking the shortest route, and I know there are risks involved, but I'd much rather be killed a different way than to be lagged in and ****ed up while I'm LOADING. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Everyone uses drones as a lag exploit. Foutiain alliance, Evolution, NVA, everyone. Not just pirates. ---

Well in that case, the entire exploit should be removed, that'd fix it wouldn't it? Make us jump in by the sentry guns...that'd be easiest - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Oh! And by the way, I had removed everything from my MoA just in case this happened, they missed out on 2 Miner II's, 1 Dual Diode Mining Laser, 2 Missile Launchers, 1 MWD, 3 AB, and 4 Power Supplies of random issue. Mwahaha...yay o_o - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Yeah sure. I suppose u never heard of ppl logging off and on frequently to avoid being seen on the map. If i go to Syndicate the first 0,0 sys i arrive in always shows 2-3 pilots in map, and when i arrive theres at least the double shown in local. But that doesnt matter as long as u know the problem, the problem for our friend Cekle Skyscales seems to be his isp or a very slow PC, cos i never been caught when i had my autopilot engaged. And those jump in noob pirates should be holarius happy about that

Yeah...my comp is outdated...which sucks because I'm more vulnerable to jump-in camp pirates like Billy Bob and The General...And I'm 15 years of age, my parents pay for my account and internet access, so I have almost no income whatsoever, so I can't upgrade my computer...at all...which sucks royally - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

i remember i worked for weeks to get my computer when i was sixteen.
Had two newspapers i delivered, got me 400 guilder a month.
Also worked on saturday and sunday in a flowershop carrying around bags of dirt and sand, and on sunday i helped a guy on his farm.
But anyway lol,
Its exploited at the moment they use harvestors. other than that its just a game mechanic thats badly written.. __________________________

Don't trust the map, ever. I checked the map, fine, 0 podkills, 0 ships destroyed, a few pilots. Later, I read a thread on the forums, something like "WATCH OUT FOR AUROHUNEN!!"... Real numbers (according to the map 10 minutes later) 40+ podkills.

I have a very good computer system as I do a lot of graphic intensive work however I was killed today jumping to Atlar by Zombie and Biomass retards.
I did load but it took 3 - 4 times longer then usual, unfortunately got the warp scramble message while my screen was still black. They had lots of "tactical drones out" .
Anyhoo Cekle, just ignore them, don't send them messages, don't post bounty, don't post anymore "I got killed posts", send a bug petition to annoy CCP and continue playing the game.

If your not a part of the solution, then you'r probably a part of the problem. |

Correction Tank - not everyone exploits. We've yet to set lag traps and have no intention of doing so.
Just because someone else does it, doesn't make it right. I've heard that same arguement used to justify out right cheating (I need to use xyz hack because my enemies are). It's BS in that situation and it's BS in this situation.

I have an idea, lets remove drones, mines, cargo containers and everything that creates lag and ban more than 3 ships converging in the same area!!!

How about you try PvP instead of hiding behind JIP lag? Too scary? I figured as much.

Normally I wouldn't reply to this sort of asinine "Wah I died even though I knew the risks wah wah wah" type of thread. This just happens to be the proverbial straw.
If you didn't like the fact you died due to lag and exploiters that use it to their advantage do something about it. You received an evemail that (usually - it does have it's bugs) indicates who killed you. Use this to your advantage. Stalk them. Hunt them. When you find them mining away to build a new bs or scouting a possible jump-in-lag-exploit area alone take them out with extreme prejudice - podkill is a must. You might even contract an organization that specializes in retribution or anti-piracy to do the dirty work for you.
Just don't whine about it. Everyone (including ccp)knows it's there. Everyone knows it's retarded to exploit it (yet some people still do.) It's a risk that's exacerbated by your old computer (buy a new one!) However, if you know which systems they haunt you might be able to catch them without you having to go through your agonizing jump-ins. Just stick around in the system till they show up. Hang out in a station or something and keep your eye on local.
*hmph* ok enough. =============== Killboard: http://www.celeskills.com

Whats this check the map comment that always gets mentioned
what happens if they have only been there for 10mins .
Or if the pod kills happened 23 hours before .
U would have to be a little paranoid and prob wouldnt travel anywhere .
I know folks that fit 8 stabilisers to their scorp .
All im saying outwith the usuall ganking jumpins like jan/obe, its hard to avoid this.
iv got an uber pc with 1mb adsl, and i still get caught out.
and darn! im hung over this morning, should have drank milk instead of tequelia last night.

you keep saying lag is an exploit?!?! Ask a GM and he will tell you this is NO exploit.
Lagging - Not exploit Even usin drones or the odd can is not an exploit.

Well, seeing how Xmas is just around the corner write to Santa .
On the serious side. If you had nothing on your MOA and was fortunate enough to insure it, you would have made 2 million ISK profit from it.
So what are you complaining about? BTW why are you flying around in a ship without weapons in dangerouse security systems? ______________________

Ok so it's not considered an exploit by the GM's - but it is still lame as hell. And it *is* considered exploitive by most of the eve community (only those wishing to justify their use of it actually argue that it's not an exploit).
Why is it that when someone tells you that there are over a billion stars in the universe, you believe them, but if they tell you there is wet paint somewhere, you have to touch it to make sure? |

Wow! Thats the biggest contradiction i have heard! The complete opposite comment in 2 sentences. Thats like saying Kamikazee is not suicide!
Once again people, Look up the word exploit in gaming. To use a Game Mechanic that is badly written or bugged to your advantage.
Its an Exploit! End of story. I bet anyone 1 mill isk that when CCP finally get their butts round to fixing this they will suddenly agree too. The only reason its not seen by them as an exploit at the moment is because they have no fix. What is the natural human instict to do when they are pushed up in a corner? To DENY everything.
I just wish CCP could grow up and say: "Sorry guys, you are right. It IS an exploit and we are going to fix it.
I think the daily posts on this board screaming about this exploit proves that the majority of people agree.

Top 4 pirate excuses for jump-in ganking...
1) Get a faster computer. 2) We're using the harvesters to mine while we camp. Honestly. 3) It's the only way to pirate that's left. 4) Mines do awesome damage.
