Yes a cease fire.. No aggression in blow sec for 2 months.. Why? Because even with the kali nerfs to solo playing I'm thinking that the targets we so desire are still going to stay in high sec no matter what is nerfed.. We need this.. Eve needs this.. Let them in.. Let them mine or rat or even set up pos's everywhere.. Hell even help them set it all up and provide advice and isk and gang mates to get them established.. Seed the hunting grounds and populate the vast wasteland of blow sec.. If we get critical mass then we can start culling the herd again and have the grand time we used to have.. Imagine it.. belts full of targets.. Moons with pos's galore to gank.. Gates with ships warping in and out with the spoils of all the systems that they are mining and ratting.. ore.. minerals.. faction mods..
Or..
The empty targetless place it is now..
Sound feasible?

Edited by: Dred''Pirate Jesus on 10/11/2006 09:33:40 Why not? at least give your reason.. As it stands the only ones who are going to blow sec are vets.. They are not good targets and never will be.. What is so wrong with the concept of restocking the fishing pond? Why should we put the whole problem on CCP to fix? Its simple and effective and with the glut of complaints over CCP's skew on this relativly painless.. 2 months of no aggression or forever no targets.. Can't you curb your predatory instincts for just a short while?

Great idea? Absolutely.

I think it is not feasible because it is something that requires a ton of cooperation - between people that do not usually cooperate.
*Kind of like asking certain parts of the world now to just calm down for a bit so a decent government can be established.*

After the implementation of "warp to 0" I think low sec (including 0.0) will see a population explosion. It makes it so easy to travel that people will not be able to resist.
so I think that the equivalent of "universal low sec coffee and cake, meet and greet" is 'warp to 0'
time will tell.

Interesting (in a good way) plan... but probably not feasable :P too many people to coordinate for this to work... pirates, pirate-hunters, miners, ratters, mission runners ALL have to do this together... just too many opportunities for someone to screw this up.

Hehehe.. Just had a thought..
Headline on the Eve login splash page..
"Concord responds to the ever growing population of High Sec space."
Today Concord Rear Admiral Rasnik Werner proposed a grand plan to ease the population boom of Empire space and the diminishing resorces that are growing ever smaller every day. "We need to expand into the resorce rich systems that are currently under Pirate control or the Empires will fall into a new Dark Age comparable to the chaos that permeated the known universe after the Eve wormhole imploded." Stated the renowned Admiral. "As of the new Kali initiative Concord will now provide limited protection to any pod pilot brave enough to stake a claim in the previously unpoliced lands of low sec. We will start stationing Elite squadrons of the best Concord can provide to the defense of any new settlement established in the hinter lands. Sadly we cannot provide 100% protection but be assured the you will get help as soon as we can warp our limited force to your area. We urge all pod pilots to gather and go forth into the abyss to secure the future of all the Empires and push back the gathering Darkness."
So in effect CCP could impliment limited Concord responce for Pos's and larger groups of players in low sec for two months to make sure that they get established.. this would make the spoilers out there stay nice until there was enough of an influx of players to make hunting for all viable again.. Now how is that unfair?

Christ.. Im not a carebear nor am i a pirate (dont let the alliance i am in fool you), but i think concord in low sec is just plain bad. Nothing good will come of it. Why did i move to lowsec, join a low sec alliance? Macrominers in low sec?! WHERE!! And this would only be temporary to lure players into low sec as we all know by now they aint gonna come if they have to fend for themselves.. No amount of whining or cajoling will do the trick.. And I even think the kali carrot will do no good in the end even though I have high hopes.. SOMETHING needs to be done and right soon.. Current pirates have skills to train that are longer than the proposal I just gave.. Will 2 months of not killing things that aint even there now be such a pain? Its not like low sec is brimming with players after all..
So Plz if you don't like my proposal at least give one of your own in response..

The risk/ reward is there for low sec for experienced corps. I was in a corp that had 4 POS's in 1 0.2 system and we sold the compounds we made to an alliance every week. But we were well organised and this was before carriers made refuelling easy... what you need are more moons with good resources and better ores to mine that are worth the risk to mining corps.... most of 0.0 is like empire now esp if you are in BOB or ASCN....

Simply because its so far from workable its insane. If you could even get the various pilots in one region to pledge to stop shooting each other/travellers/NPCers for two days I would be impressed.

Yeah I realize that mrmutley and the reason for my second suggestion of limited concord protection of low sec for 2 months.. Not 100% just enough to let a serious group of players get a foothold.. So if enough players take the chance then even if the pirates go hog wild ( and you know they will.. ) after Concord leaves then there will be more than enough to keep them happy and killing for a looooong time as the prey should now greatly outnumber the pirates.. And isnt that several factors of 10 better than it is now?

This will never happen. The "Kill anything that moves" gene in EVE just got told they DON'T OWN the place and they are upset. I think it is the best move CCP has ever made, an I hope to see more of it..
3 Cheers for CCP, I and my entire corp was gonna quit all our paid accounts (I have 2), but now I just might pay a year on both!! If this was thier plan, then I hope they have more accounts stay

Convenience, good sir. Carebears love convenience! Safety is the illusion, and the lie. It is never truely safe, even with CONCORD around and that fact is not going to change. They will travel more freely and faster but die all the same, you just wait and see.

I don't see the difference from instas. The same deterant is there for people and the exact same pirates will be waiting. The same jump tactics will be used and you're probably right the same people will die a lot :p
Warp to 0 just levels the playing field and takes out a database/system intensive game mechanic.

In the early days corps that stayed out in low sec usually had rat allies and varying types of NAPs. The politics of low sec used to be extremely complex.
It reduced your enemies and allowed greater freedom. So if you want to put your idea into practice. Find a medium size indy corp and come to some secret agreement. Pirate their competition only or something along those lines. If all the rat corps do something similar the politics can add to the games fun.
The only issue with this is that some rat corps suddenly find themselves fighting other PvPers instead of indies and they get stroppy.
I love old characters that post 'I've beeen playing the game three years' when I know their account has been sold on.

Good in theory - fishermen stop fishing when the population gets low. But ... players aren't fish - they can actually reason.
How long do you think the herd will stay once you have spent months getting them to come in when you start shooting them again? I think they'd all disappear in less than a week.
