So I been playing with kill rights recently and eventually had a kill right on me. Which is fine. So i am all good that someone activates that kill right and has 15 minutes to try kill me. What i dont get is if they fail to kill me, that kill right is still available for anyone else to try.
Is that right? Should you really be a target for anyone that fails to kill you for 30 days? One would assume that you sell the kill right if that person fails to kill you in 15 minutes well thats the opportunity missed.

I see what you mean. They have the right to kill you tho. Which means as long as you haven't been killed, they have the right to kill you (for 30 days).
It probably also saves all kinds of easy tricks to get out of killrights. |

The only way to get rid of a killright before expiration is to get killed while killright is active.

Well they're called "kill rights" not "shooty rights."
If you really want it gone though, fly a rookie ship into a mission site while it's active. Yep, even mission rats can clear kill rights.

Yep. You pay for the attempt at a kill. If you fail, the right remains, as the owner has asked for the payment of one Killmail. You didn't deliver, thus the right remains. But you pay regardless :) |

This is the same as a bounty. If a bounty hunter fails to capture to kill you does your bounty magically go away? No. Either don;t kill people in places that will make a kill right, or hide for 30 days

I kind of like the idea of making them pay for every failed attempt as well... you know tie it all together, by getting taxed a surcharge on every attempt after the first, (or set number).

Once the killright is activated any way you lose your ship removes the killright, player or NPC. It's not even necessary to go into a mission site, just find a belt with rats.
Shed may poke fun, but he never trolls.

Do you have to get killed before the timer expires ?

It is logical from what 's been said about it.
So if someone hides in a station after someone actives a kill right on them, they only have 15 minutes to get in a rookie ship, escape the gauntlet and find a willing belt rat. |

Don't worry about it, mistakes are made, especially when reading the forum and playing the game at the same time. We all do it, it's not like anyone on the forum is going to troll you for the rest of your life for it. |
