This game is complicated and ****, so with out losing all you work because you dont know if a sentry gun will fire the sentry gun should give a warning. Somthing like stop what your doing or be fired upon. If you keep doing what your doing then you get killed but if you leave you dont lose weeks of hard work because you dont know the the ******* way the game works. Last time the sentry got me, i gave the game another chance. This time i smashed the CD. I hope a fire starts a CCP and you all die.

Do you realize the difference between losing a ship in a game and hope people burn to death? Fine, next point. What kind of ship was it? I tried how powerful sentry guns were today, and I measured ~250 damage per second on shields. My 5865 hp lasted for 24 seconds, the whole ship took more than a minute to blow up. I just don't see how people lose battleships to sentry guns without being warp scrambled or such

Most people dont have battleships (For the record 2 Sentries took out my Tempests 6300 shields by the time the normal warp lag had vanaished, after shooting a convoy for the first a month or 2 back). CCP's documentation for this game is totally appalling. I know people who have been playing 4 months have to double check whether sentries will shoot, or if concord will interject (Shooting convoys etc). Whilst the original poster might not have put it in the best way, his point is valid. Eve has some indredibly lacking documention, whether Manual, PDF or help on this site.
You cant even search for "sentries" on this forum ffs

With code that s being continually rewritten and altered and adjusted, it is probably best to keep a very close eye to the patch forum, and especially the patch notes.
Although incomplete, they do provide good insite to the mechanics of the game. Granted, does leave you wondering why they bothered with a paper manual, and why its still being printed.

It oly happens when people do major ****ups or simply don't pay attention. Or, I think is more usual, the "stuck in warp" bug....
If your not a part of the solution, then you'r probably a part of the problem. |

I wish I knew when sentry guns would ignore you after you were, errr, involved in a security-loss incident.
My poor little Scorpion just got armoured by sentry guns after I approached them too soon after trying to kill a CA in a 0.2 system.

And after the first time you thought "From now on I'll be more careful around sentry guns." ?
And after the first time you thought "From now on I'll keep my cruiser insured." ?
And after the first time you thought "From now on I won't risk my cruiser until I have the resources to replace it again quickly should I need to." ?
Apparently not. Forgive me if my sympathy is limited.
Besides, since when was replacing a cruiser "weeks of work"? Mining, trading, hunting, agenting, any of those will replace a cruiser in a couple of evenings.

Lucre. You seem to forget some of us only play for a few hours a week! so yes it will take us a week or two to replace a cruiser. You said he should have insured his ship, Maybe he should have but if it takes him weeks to get the isk to buy the ship, 2-3 Mil isk might not be alot for some to spend but for a few of us i can tell you it is :)
