GÇó The Arena platform gives players the ability to plan and host pvp events in a more controled fashion GÇó It is a content creation tool GÇó It offers tournament and betting options to make it more engaging and easy to find and create pvp content What features would the arena offer? GÇó The ability to create real duels between players with no outside interference ( Remote reps, Links, etc ) GÇó The ability to create tournaments GÇó The ability to place bets GÇó The ability to decide on the fight rules What are the proGÇÖs and conGÇÖs of the arena ? ProGÇÖs GÇó You can have fights with no outside intervention (no links no reps no friends) GÇó New players can practice fighting in a more predictable controlled setting GÇó A powerful content creation tool GÇó PVP tournaments with a competitive feel GÇó Betting! ConGÇÖs GÇó Can be hard to implement GÇó Not sure how it could deal with advantage from implants or boosters GÇó Difficulty spectating the fights. How would that work? GÇó Would render the current duel mechanic obsolete in highsec GÇó Unsure how multiple fights could happen at one time without instancing How would it work? The arena structure would be dockable.Once docked you would be presented with the familiar items and fitting window and an interface. Situation A) You are a solo pilot in search of a quick fight so you either create an open challenge to other people or you can accept an open challenge of someone else. The interface will give you the options to restrict the duel to certain ship class or specific hull and may even offer the ability to wager on the fight. Situation B) You and a few friends want to have a 5v5 skirmish,proceed to create a challenge the same way as with a solo duel. The same options to restrict and define the rules of the fight are available. Situation C) You want to host a smal tournament, you can use the interface to start one. You will have the option to choose the time the tournament starts,the minimum and maximum number of pilots that can sign up. You can have an entry fee . Choose between single or double elimination. Prizes can come entirely from entry fees or the tournament creator can add isk or item prizes from his own pocket. Prizes can be paid out in multiple ways such as Cascading arithmetically (Cascading arithmetically is 1 share, 1/2 share, 1/3 share, 1/4 share, 1/5 share, and so on) , Cascading exponentially (The way cascading exponentially works is that first place gets 1 share, 2nd place gets 1/2 share, 3rd placers get 1/4 share, 4th placers get 1/8 shares, and so on), or winner takes all. Situation D) A pilot wants to spectate a fight and place bets on it. he will be presented with an interface designed for placing bets on said fight In closing i think this can be a very fun and interesting tool for players to use. This can be the equivalent of Rome's Colosseum. I would love to hear what you guys think and pick this apart,maybe come with improvements on the idea. If people will like this idea i will make some concept art for the arena structure and a mockup for the interfaces. And before anybody trolls me,yes i did use the search option and i did read "The dojo" thread, but i think this is different enough to be worth it's own thread. Cheers. Let's have fun with this one.

If you want to debate the idea is bad go for it, say why . Trolling here is just a waste of time and doesn't help the eve community grow at all :) and btw i don't mind if you think it's bad but i do want to hear some reasoning.

If you actually read my entire post maybe you would understand,this is about gambling and competition and having fun with prizes and stuff . but good on you,this is not supposed to be for everyone especially not nullsec or wormhole pilots
