Hi, I am currently sitting in Jita wondering which to buy. I guess after wieghing all the options it boils down to not knowing if the Ishtar's drone bonuses are transfered to assigned fighters as I will have a Carrier pilot working with me. Replies at this crutial momment are most welcome.

Drone bonus works for the Ishtar's drones only (as fighters use seperate skills).

I would say Deimos would be better, because It'll go faster and hit harder when assisted by Fighters. Though it really depends which you prefer and which you have higher skills with.

Fighters only use the Drones and Fighter skills, nothing more than that unfortunately

Thanks for the quicky replies. So if I have this straight I will get no bonuses transfered to fighters from flying the Ishtar. Only my personal training in Drone Durability, navigation and sharp shooting will have an influence. Looking at the Deimos :)

Do you like Thoraxes? Because that's what the Deimos is: a fancy Thorax that costs... bleh, I don't even know these days. I like my Deimos, but do ask yourself the question I just asked you.
The Ishtar is really much more of an upgrade to the Vexor than the Deimos is to the Thorax. I own (and like) all of those ships, mind you, but the Ishtar is a much more popular choice currently because of the I-Win Nos+ECM+drone setup that also makes the Dominix so successful. I'm not fond of that setup personally.
Anyway, yeah, point is, the Deimos is ok but kind of flies like a brick despite its intended purpose, and I'm not sure it's worth it over a Thorax. But if you know Thoraxes and would like an upgrade, by all means, give the Deimos a try. It's particularly good at being the extra punch in a small gang.

If you have fighters assigned to you, ishtar's drones will be useless... so the deimos is a better choice. Ishtar is a bit stronger tank but both can tank any NPC spawn pretty easy.
