Thats because according to Biomass internal killtotals your corporation has already killed a thousand NVA ships and left us with nothing but space-matresses to float around in. Hence another "4" is nothing to shout and dance about.
We on the other hand, (who again according to internal Biomass kill totals) never ever kill anyone ... have just scored an infinite improvement in that record.
Hence, the celebration, and lets face it, converting a scumbag gate camper into 6m ready cash is pretty good work for a frigate combat corp.
Sheesh, lighten up dude, your hair is falling out!

This is the kind of stuff that makes me almost re-activate my sub.
But then again, such encounters are far between and often I am not online when it do happen or too swamped with work (at work now, overtime).
My sub ends tomorrow, even tough I got a huge urge not to...'tis hard to leave good friends behind. EVE is easy, but the friends and the fun, that's the hard stuff.

I was going to post about the topic but then I see this banner above my Reply to Topic box that says: FIGHT FOR STABILITY, PEACE AND PROSPERITY, TO HOUSE, KADOR. wtf? since when does this stuff have a -direct- effect on gameplay? who cares?
I was afraid I'd make it into a sig some day.
Oh and we can add this kill to the ones where we lost blackbirds to sensor dampners crashing us like replacing the nascar drivers with 80 year old drunken cripples and cutting their brake lines.

I don't know which is lamer. Leaving your ship while *solo* gate-camping, or posting that you did as some kind of excuse...
I mean it's not like they found you at a moon or something where being AFK makes *some* kind of sense. You were camped at a gate...
If I left a ship in a blockade, went AFK and got killed, I'd have to say "yup you got me" rather than "I really needed to take a c*&p and couldn't be bothered logging off". Too embarrassing otherwise...
Oh, and true or not this is 100% lamer than almost any novel excuse I've heard to date. Not as boring as "CTD!", "exploit!" or "WTF JIP camping", but still lamer...

It's more like he lost his ship for being AFK at a gate whilest camping in 0.0 space. Ignorance is not an excuse, like a BB not being able to pound a thorax who has his mining suit on... Sound familiar Ryoko darling

Come on, now; without the original announcement we'd never see the "Being the -7 pirate i logged on, sat on the gate i could not use as escape route and immediately went afk" excuse, which is almost as good as that story with the General trying to pay the ransom... ;s

*sob* someone spiked my drink with acid before the race, and when i tried to jump that first hurdle it attacked my left leg, chewing it off at the knee. after a monstrous fight i broke the hurdle's back, but had no chance of comeback for j0's affections 
tis a good point tho, what kind of pirate goes afk whilst camping the gate back into civilisation, when there are no less than *4* NVA members in local... if this is truly the case then your corpse was handed to us on a silver platter. lets hope it happens again :D

I guess i should say something like: "You should've checked the map before setting a course through systems where there are 0 ships destroyed in the last 24 hours, you cant miss it! Its the system where there's no red or green blob on the map." <-- replace: "0" with a number, replace "no" with "a" for non-pirates.

He was sitting AFK at a stargate, because he logged on and left his computer, thinking he logged in a station the other night. Then Reikoku came and ganked him. You really think a battleship wouldn't be able to tank four frigates during that 10 km to the stargate?
And h4x0 leaves his corpses behind everywhere Artegg, its like a friggin plague. If something is stinking in your kitchen, you can be sure its h4x0's corpse rotting away somewhere
