Hello gents and gentettes
I'm a young pilot currently doing some of the level 3 missions in my Vexor, but I get scared off of accepting the more difficult ones. The great majority of my combat SP in drones, so I'm wondering which ship I should train into for the harder level 3 missions. The standard move appears to be to just move up into Brutix, but it doesn't seem like much of a dedicated droneship. The Ishkur seems to run in the price range of a Brutix, but I've read that it is mainly suitied for PVP over PVE.
If I go the Brutix route, I'm going to have to train up my gunnery and hybrid skills a whole lot. If I go with the Ishkur, I'll have to train the pre-reqs, and then get the Assault Frigs skill up. Either will dictate my training for a couple weeks.
How viable is the Ishkur for the harder level 3 missions? Or would it just be wiser to just put drones on hold and fit out a Brutix?

Think that the AF is specifically adapted to certain lvl 3's such as sepentis and mordus missions, you will lose drones on some of these missions and will need some gunnery skills anyway to optimise damage output...
With brutix, your main problem is going to be incoming damage especially explosive and kinetic type...
I'd say get both...
But I guess the ultimate answer is to train higher again and get an ishtar heavy assault ship...

Well, it just occurred to me that the Myrmidon will have a drone bonus, so I think training for battlecruisers will be the route I'm going to take. The Ishtar is fantastic, but way way too expensive. I may train for one, but not for a long while.
Thanks

Why not get a Domi? It's the ultimate drone boat and (from what I hear) BBQs any lvl3 and most lvl4 missions. It probably takes less time to train to use it than to use an AF.

Yep, just train for a Dominix. It's the ultimate drone ship, you can do level 3's AFK in it.
Also it takes a lot less training time than an AF.

Vexor, ishkur , domi, ishtar, lvl 3's i would train for a domi you can tank forever just takes along time to kill the rats untill you have decent drone skills, and if you ever get into pvp these are also prolly the best ships to be in _______________________________________________ Life is a game if your not winning you must be loseing.

I've just got the standing required to run the highest quality level 3 agents and would like to ask on your opinion in using an amarr recon ship (probably curse, since it has more slots for tanking and other stuff) to do them. I've been doing all l2 missions with ease in my pilgrim (i think that was a bit an overkill for L2s, since i can do them in an arbitrator easily, but with pilgrim it's more fun). I am using both medium and light t2 drones, and light t2 beams to get rats' attention on me. So will it be sufficient or should i get BC/BS in there? I also have the choice of using retribution with mostly t2 fitting for tougher missions, but i love my drone boats :)
t.y. in advance

Domi is your best bet for Level 3s
Pros: 1. Cheap 2. Easy 3. Tanks like a champ 4. No ammo costs 5. PVP setup in low sec
Cons: 1. Butt ugly ship
Tip: Get your Drone (1M+) + Mechanic skills up (T2 armor and hardeners). Train for sentry drones for sniping from 80-100km. These same skills are needed for PVP and low sec life. And dont use T2 drones on level 3s, not worth it.

Im using a Domi to run lvl 3 missions, and almost all of them are a walk in the park. Just go in mass agro, wait to they come close enough for loot to get collected by tractor beams. I use 2 of them in my setup for the easier missions.
This said; look out for Mordus Headhunters the new version (not the same as in eveinfo), this one is mush harder than anything else i tried, so dont make coffee while doing this one, or simple skip it

As a lot of other posters have said, go for a Domi, it's easy to train for. You most likely have cruiser 4 already and BS 1 ist just a notch up (so BS 3 is more reasonable, but 1 is enough for lvl3 missions). Also, you can take fully advantage of your drone skills. get sentries, set up a perma running tank using 1 large armour repairer and you'll be happy in nearly all lvl3 missions. You can get used to the ship and try differnt settings before starting on lvl 4s (it's not that much more difficult than lvl3 if you know what you are doing). You can fiddle around with NOS vs. Guns, less hardeners and more damage mods and whatever you like to try all the while having your drones to rely on.
