Maybe I missed that little part of information in any of the billions of DEV responses. But why was the shield HP of Heavy Assault Ships increased by somewhat around 25% and the recharge time was boosted by 50%? I know that HACs are overprized and own everything (except CS, Tier2 BCs and some BS), but do the really deserve another kick in the face?

The dev's stated that they would not be getting the same hp bonuses that all the t1 ships get. Part of the hp increase intent was to also make the t1 ships more viable for pvp. In order to accomplish this, the hacs are getting a small general nerf on hp.

It's because HAC resists are good and giving them same HP buff as T1 would increase the gap between T1 and T2... CCP believe that giving HACs only 25% more HP will remain the same balance as we have now (passive shield tanking HACs is set back, but it increases greatly with each shield extender)

If the recharge rate was boosted by only 25%, then after fitting extenders (which got a 50% increase) t2 ships would have better hp regen than before the patch.

Why do battlecruisers and cruisers have the same shield regen value? ===================

well, as CCp said going in, all T1 ships were going to get a 50% HP bonus, and all Tech 2 ships were going to get a 25% Ho bonus.
The only exceptions to this were Destroers and BC's, which were given more of a boost, becuse they needed it to fit with their given roles.

Seems some people have selective reading...
The nerf to recharge time seems like an error. I don't see why they would intentionally make it worse than it is now, anyway.
For everyone else: he wasn't complaining about the HP boost being less than the T1 boost.

Well honestly the poster was not so clear... "But why was the shield HP of Heavy Assault Ships increased by somewhat around 25% and the recharge time was boosted by 50%?" = - By increasing T1 ship total HP by 50% and keeping their recharge time, they got shield recharge in addition to the HP boost. - By increasing (most) T2 ship total HP by only 25% but increasing recharge time by 50%, these ship got their passive recharge nerfed by about 20%.
The recharge rate is very important to the poster (and me), so therefore we would like this un-nerfed if possible, but there might be a point...
I noticed that Caldari HACs didn't have actually have as good of a passive tank (if you neglect resists) as a Ferox did. I wonder if this is in lin with that idea.
