As much as posting kills is lame this one had me in tears of laughter so thought I'd share....
While camping gate I notice a Scorp warp in and start approaching gate on other side of my position. Scorp appears to have ambitions of being a anti-pirate as he pops out his drones on sight of a passing rupture flying outlaw.
Knowing that my anti-hauler Scorp is no match for him under sentry fire I decide to uncloak my alt (Doctor BBQ) in his bustard transport and mwd to him while locking in hope of maybe some aggro. Sure enough he engages with what appears to be rails..... quickly Doc closes to 0m and to my delight the scorps dmg decreases to nothing.
Now to finish the job Doc activates 2 * +2 point scram on the poor guy and it's now just a matter of time for the sentrys to eat him...this brings BBQs total to 3 BSs killed at gates so far.
Best of all, 120m isk of loot :)
Maybe transports need some attention from pirates in general, I think many of them could be wicked ships for low sec piracy.
Anyone else had any fun kills in haulers / transports ?

I've thought about baiting with an occator but never really looked into it. It's nice to see different ways of making isk other than the traditional 'beat your face in for lootsies' tactics. -------------------------------------

I expect you to keep your promises

BBQ lost 3 bustards to CVA. He got abit too brave at times... tackling two zealots and failing on both occasions.

Railguns (all turrets?) always missing at 0m is probably a bug, since it makes no sense at all.
It's especially weird when firing at something with a huge zero metre signature like a station, as graphically you can be about 5km away, but still given as zero metre, and still missing.
Mind you, I've ranted before about exactly how lazy and wrong the tracking mechanism is, but considering how rock hard the maths must be to database programmers I'm not surprised they've never fixed it.
Nice to hear I may have somewhere to go after the Badger Of Doom became a marked ship.
Put home addresses in loss and killmails. Maybe then the community will find a way to control themselves a bit better. |

Your not the only one that gives his alts strange and annoying (and costly) persanality traits that sometimes actually screw the main they are supposed to be working for over.

Edited by: Stormhold on 13/11/2006 10:58:05 Blockade runners make awesome baits for interceptors (or actually about anything) who wouldn't engage otherwise.
A prorator, 1-2-4, has decent speed, decent base resistances , decent hp amount, tanking bonuses and 2 natural stab points. Still everyone engages it since it's a hauler after all.
I've gotten some people aggroed at a gate thanks to it and then killed them and I've gotten a couple of ceptors attack them and then get myself close enough to kill the ceptors myself when they're scrambled and webbed.
It's just too bad that the amarr one which my alt can fly only has 2 meds, web + scramble is something a decent ceptor pilot can escape fast enough. I wish my alt could fly some other race's blockade runner so I could have mwd/web/scramble or double web and scramble.
EDIT: Prowler with frigate size autocannon II, assault launcher II, mwd, web, scramble and 2 slots for tank would be hillarious for killing frigs.

nice kill takes me back to the days of my battle badger. ECM and scrams and just wait for sentries to get the kill. the only thing is you don't get a kill mail yourself and it is hard getting a loss mail off someone that had his mega killed by a badger

I used to use a combat set up on an Iteron V to steal ore from farmers, then blow up their Covetors when they stuck their drones on me (heh until I got ganked by two of them - 10 Hammerheads hurt!)
Recently I tried setting up a Viator for the same purpose. Ended up in a fight against a farmer's Vigilant (yes, a Vigilant) with him using blasters and 5 x Hammerhead IIs. I got his shield down using the single Heavy Ion Blaster II I had fitted, but I was in structure by that point and had to warp. I switched to a Domi, the only other ship I had there, but he (understandably) ran. Then he docked and started smacktalking in local :P ~

Nope, earlier BBQ took bravery to a whole new lvl. On seeing a thanatos undock he locked the carrier and shouted 'nice ship, can I kill it'
Said carrier then took offense and double webbed then killed him.

Some people can't take a joke.
Said carrier actully felt guilty about taking down a non-pirate players' transport ship - until he found out that he had killed Tiller's alt, then he couldn't stop grinning all day
