I'm working towards a HAC now, a Zealot to be precise. Not on this character obviously, my main account is freezed during the 20 days I wait for Amarr Cruiser 5. What skills should I have to fly it? Not just get inside it, but fly it well enough so it won't disappear in a sad looking flash of light 5 minutes after I've undocked. Since it's a T2 cruiser I figured I'd have to get T2 guns to match it, but then what? I've got some of the regular fitting skills done to atleast 4 and I can fly an assault frigate already so those skills are done too.
Help me out here, I've got a cute portrait

Basicly the same that goes for any ship, but a bit more for t2 ships. I would say the more t2 modules on it the better. And when you have t2 modules then your skills for it must be good then, like energy/electronics/shield/armor and ofcourse the t2 guns.
And ofcourse the old saying, 'only fly ships you can afford to loose'. So since you are gonna fly that ship you can afford to loose it, thus you can test if your skills are good enough for it.

This character was created in april, and can't fly any tech 2 ship. Heck, I have no intention to train for a tech 2 ship for quite a long time. I still have sooooo many must-get-to-level=5 skills to train.
Almost ready to tackle battleship 5.

If you're going for tech II ships, I wouldn't bother with BS V, as there are no TII BSes =P save it for when you want dreadnoughts etc, or if you plan to be a battleship user on a long term basis.

the only tip i can give you, is HAC lvl5. Hac lvl 5 is one of the few worth while high rank skills to train to 5. Because hacs get 2 bonuses. its something you just got to do.
hac 5 goes 1st, before nav5, laser spec 5, or rapid fire 5.

Edited by: Derrios on 12/11/2006 23:32:38 being amarr, all cap skills to 5. controlled to 5 (obviously). You want T2 guns so work hard on the gunnery. I would recommend all tanking skills to 5 (mechanic, hull upgrades, armor rep) secondary tank to 4 (resist skills).
that should keep you busy for awhile.

I would disagree with you on that to a certain extent.
I agree HAC 5 is a very good skill to have because of what you mentioned, getting 2 bonuses and whatnot. I personally would not want to fly a HAC until I know for sure my secondary skills from gunnery, drones, electronics, engineering, navigation, mechanic, etc etc are the best they can be to a reasonable level. I would think someone would do HAC 5 when they are very comfortable in the ship and can already fly it very well in PvE/PvP. Though doing it first doesn't hurt I guess, as long as you don't have utter crap for the rest of your skills
