When doing missions I sometimes get confused about what missile type is best to equip. The rule of thumb I use is if the NPC e.g. Gusistas doing Kinetic and Thermal damage, I figure they must be vulnerable to the same and equip accordingly. Is there a chart with the best type of missiles to use or am I actually on the right track?

Just look up the mission and it will tell you what type of damage to do and what type to tank for.

Or you could just fit Thermal damage and it will work decently for basically every mission :) Thermal is a generally low resist for all NPC's... though there are a few exceptions of course.

Hung, you are right with this assumption, Primery damage of NPC's = Type of damage to use against them.
