Hi,
Once apon a time Harvesters where the cheap way to mine. ( This goes back to the time when you would pay more for dual diode than a current Miner 2).
Now harvesters seem to be retailing for around .5M can some one please explain where the supply of these has gone?

A certain corporation'convoys used to drop them in stacks of 300. x4 containers.
Nowadays, they don't drop anymore and the supply has since dwindled. That's why they are relatively rare and sell for that kind of money.

Harvester were mistakenly put into the game. Like CONCORD agents, Jove agents, and ISK.

I think everyone is expecting bp's to emerge soon, so nobody dares buy or sell atm.
I bought 68 harvesters at a bulk price of 350k a pop a week ago hoping to make around 50k profit on each of them without a sweat - and to my great suprise it took me 3 days to sell them on Trade with only an average 5k profit on each.
I had to sell them that low as I just didn't want to get caught with my pants down having 23mil worth of unsellable harvesters

All my harvesters are in heaven. NPC pirates seem to hate them with a passion

Easy answers to why people aren't buying up Harvesters at 350-500K.
1) Miner II's are available for as low as 200K.
2) If you're mining Bistot, Harvesters will give you 2 a trip, MAX, no matter how much skill you have. Basic mining drones will give you 1 per trip. 500K drone vs. a 4K drone.
And most people won't even use Harvesters for deep space mining, they rather not risk their 500K drones and just use combat drones fulltime for defense.

the reason i wont use harvesters is due to several factors
primarily it's cost, without the high cost the rest wouldnt be aissue
second. they refuse to fallow orders. if they're being attacked they will sit there and mine untill they die, refuseing to return to the hanger..
third, fourty hit points...not only are they stupoid but they die fast...
and finaly. NPCs will ignore a 90 million isk battleship that WILL DESTROY THEM and concintrate on harmless little mineing drones...totaly stupid, pointless and rediculous
untill i get a bp my harvesters will collect dust...
