Edited by: Rockbox on 13/11/2006 08:00:55 This ammo makes me cry.
It completely contradicts the combat philosophy of blasters.
It is a bit over powered and should have its damage reduced abit more than it already will be. Blasters should not even be close to out damageing AC over 10 km, its madness....
I am a strong believer that blasters should be the end all weapon 10km and under, however they should not be capable of good dps all the way out to 15km (this is where null defeats the purpose of blasters)
Its like having hail outdamage void close in, it aint right.
I know it will recieve a tracking nerf soon, but its a moot point. A tempest struggeling to keep range on a blasterthron while using Barrage and its range advantage (which atm is hampered by null) simply dosent have enough agility and speed over the mega to keep up transversal and range at the same time, and by staight lineing it away from the mega to keep range the tracking penalty really dosent come into play.
Discuss? I would like to see arguments from both sides!

double web the mega with the temps 2nd mid, and null is getting screwed in the ass anyway. 50% tracking nerf, plus damage nerf. barrage will crush null after kali. so much so that null will be pointless.

But barrage gets an equal percentage damage nerf correct? Or does null recieve a bigger dmg nerf?

I really don't understand the need for nerfing T2 ammo any further. With the upcoming damage and tracking nerf of Null, antimatter will ouperform it in all but cap use... Well, I guess it makes cheap T2 BPOs, but thats the only good thing about it. ___ P.S. Post with your main. Mind control and tin hats |

I really don't get the logic of the null nerf at all. Null large needs nerfing, I'll be the first to admit that. It's range is uber, no doubt about it.
Why the hell is it's tracking and damage being nerfed then? Surely the most logical thing to do is reduce its range bonus...
The thing I'm worried about is null medium and small getting the same tracking and damage penalty, which would effectively make them useless. The Taranis has pitiful enough range with null as it is. ----------- Join channel 'Turby' or die! (bring pie) Mission running carebears drop good loot. Probe one out today! Or, add skills to increase the range of warp disruptors and webs by 10% per level.

barrage remains untouched. no tracking nerf, no range nerf, no damage nerf. It's a celebration beeootch! |

Large null is the silliest thing in the game atm. Blaster ammo going 25k with higher damage than autocannons... not sure what to say. "OK"? I think its mostly a problem with Neutron II's though. Ions and electrons look fine to me. But since you CAN fit 7x Neutron II and plates on a mega (with cpu implant), and its very very superior to the other setups, I dont see why you wouldnt. I definently would.
Ive created a few threads about this before, and three things usually come up as replies:
* A lot of fights happen at 25-50 km range, where autocannons are better. Eve is not a solo game and you should bring tacklers if you are not gallente. * Instead of nerfing blasters, boost autocannons. * Introduce longer range warp disruptors.
Personally, I think longer range warp disruptors would be very nice. 30 km. No reason why only one race should fight in their optimal range solo in this game (at battleship level).

The changes to null L I could see, but the other sizes shoudl have been left alone. Stupid.

As it stands Null L still has that huge range in Kali I believe, and as for the damage nerf, well say all t2 ammo got a 25% nerf, that includes barrage offcourse so null will still out damage it... It either needs higher percentage of damage reduction than barrage or to have its range nerfed.

In case you haven't read the changes. Null is dead. You wont see it used so why complain? Blasters are good for dmg and tracking. Use Null and you get range but can't hit anything anymore. Yeah makes sense - NOT.
They should've cut the dmg if they wanna balance it or cut the range bonus a lil but the tracking nerf kills this ammo.
