Minnie recons are the wors solomobiles in the class. Price reflects that.
They shine in gangs, though. Or paired with Gallente recon, but I haven't seen the last thing in person. ------ No ISK, no fun |

I have no problem with bad solomobiles. As eve is no solo game.
The 2 Minnie recons are the best ship in game for certain situations (i won't mention them here :-P). -- This game is still in beta stage |

Soy, have you ever tried to doble-web someone at 60km? Try that. Think again.
Besides, with coming Kali patch, Caldari and Minmatar will rule, while Amarr and Gallente will be the underdogs. Dont think they will give another boost to minnie or caldari, it would be totally ridiculous if they did that. ---

Minmatar recons are an interceptor's worst nightmare and a raven's best friend. The ability to completely castrate any speedtanking ship from 60km and allow a raven to do full damage with rage torps is simply devestating in a gang. They are also one of the few reliable ways to kill a vagabond.

Hahahaha, how could anyone think the minnie recons are underpowered??
Fastest ship within 40km in the game, plus good firepower for a recon and great versatility. Enjoy them while the price is so delicious tbh. Solo and gang work they are a lot of fun.

Yes, because we all know that webbing and scrambling a ship from 28 km and making it not able to target you is worthless, since the ship doesnt have high dps as well! </irony>
Seriously, the market only demonstrates how much focus there is on solo pvp ships. But im fine with them being cheap. Threads like these are not good for prices...

Edited by: Deva Blackfire on 14/11/2006 20:19:33 Last i checked marked curses werent too expensive either. Useless compared to... lets say - sacrilege? Dont think so :) (ok nvm... now i got irony ;p)
As for huginns - im forcing a lot of minmatar specced pilots in the corp to train for them. They are excellent anti-vagabond platforms (was thinkign abt training for one myself - need only minimi cruiser 5).

Sadly, you need to spend 150m per web to get the magic 60km range. The majority of people will only ever experience 32km web range, which although good, isn't as handy as draining cap, scrambler and jamming the hell out of everything. Secondly, in a number of circumstances webbing a ship can make it virtually insta-warp. Combined with boosted inertia stabs and...
Anyway, change the bonus to +10km web range per level instead (same for the Gallente ones with scramblers). That way we can have 60km/65km web range with Recon 5 (Fleeting/Domination webs).

Huh? Next time if you talk abt arazu/lachesis check their bonuses. Typical scramble range is 36km (recons 4)
AND to get magic 60km scramble range you need to spend... how much is domi disruptor nowadays?

I said the typical web range on the Minmatar recon was 32km. Not once did I mention the specific range of the Gallente recons except with maxed skills.
Secondly, I said that the bonuses should be changed on both ships so they give 60km with Recon 5 and regular equipment (for Gallente recons this would mean +8km per level, for Minmatar recons it's +10km per level). With domination gear, that would give 65km web range and 70km scrambling range.

Then i understood this one wrong:
Anyway, change the bonus to +10km web range per level instead (same for the Gallente ones with scramblers).
Nvtheless: no. You can already get 60km with domination (50% more than with t1) web and same with scramblers (t1 20km vs dominations 30km).
Your idea would actually remove any point of buying better scrams and webs. 5km from 60 to 65 or 10km from 60 to 70 on web/scram respectively wouldnt be even worth 10more mil isk.
And if you do this - why you forget abt curse? Nossing/neutralizing at 50km with t1 nosf would be cool.

Only when by its self, maybe if you had a few and a few Arazu/Lach you could stop the Vagabonds from roaming in Q.

They're only crap because you fail at flying them. They're incredibly deadly, just not from a weaponry standpoint. They eat blasterboats, circling at 20km with a scrambler and a dual web. I'm getting one after my dictor finishes. ----------------------------

If that was the bonus i think people would be using warp scramblers not warp disruptors

Minnie recons are indeed the 'worst' recons because they dont absolutely wtfpwn in an obvious way. They wtfpwn when combined with other ships in certain ways, which is as good as or better than other recons.
Not to metion theyre the only recon with a web bonus - so suck or not overall, they do something that nothing else (other than faction ships) can do.

i must say these ships are not cheap to fit mebbie the most expensive recon to fit i would imagine ofc thats dependant on what you fit yours out like.
Personally becus its generally not an EW boat i tend to put abit of a tank on mine and shield tanking mods are very expensive. Plus the 720's t2's are very overpriced atm. So imho i believe it matchs the pilgrim for cost since there 100m+ for the ship and relativly cheap to fit.
The ship itself tho is excellent - combined with an arazu most targets are completly screwed. smacking as many of your low with dmg mods giving it a very high alpha you can generally pop a frig in 1-2 volleys if webbed. -------------------------------------------------------- Forever Pirate 2

Edited by: Jezala on 15/11/2006 18:59:23 I've found the Huggin to be excellent at nullifying blasterthrons, thoraxs, stabbers/vagas, autopests, and interceptors.
It's simply pure evil when paired up with an interdictor, gallente recon, or Raven.
The only problem with the minmatar recons is that they are a bit lacking on the defensive end considering that they don't have defensive EW like the Gallente and Caldari, nor do the Minmatars have the offensive capabilities like the Amarr.
...and yes, we do sell and deliver ammo. 425 Express Delivery is available upon request, please see Hans Gates and Marcus Grisbius regarding this option. |
