Not tested this myself yet but ive been told by friends that if you activate a passive targeter whilst your target jammed you can lock on to your agressor and return fire,no matter how much ecm he has activated on you.Im hoping this isnt true and i probably shouldnt have posted without testing, but if it is true it puts the whole point of eccm and EW in general in a complete mess.I was told its not an exploit by someone who uses it since the passive targeters use an optical sensor system that is not affected by the 4 specific jammer types. So whats the point in bothering with EW (at least target jammers) if your enemy just has to activate one cheap readily available module to be able to relock and also have more slots free for other nastiness that he/she would otherwise have to use for ECCM etc. As far as i know all passive targetters should be able to be used for is locking onto a ship without them becoming aware of it. As i say ive not tested it myself and i seriously hope im wrong but alot of people i know are claiming otherwise. |

Unless they changed it in a recent patch in the last week or so this is not true. We tested it and if I had them locked down, it did not matter what they used, they could not target me. Even if it says you are targeted, when you try to do anything it drops.
