Jita 0.9 Security Status Planet IV
While I walk down the streets of the markets which have spread themselves down to the world of Jita IV, I am burdened by a letter which I hold in my pocket. Written by a wife or by a mother, I can understand. However, it was written by a friend. A friend I met during my years of the academy. At first, she seemed like a bright pilot who had the expectations you would expect from that who was soon going to be trying for a position in CONCORD. Yet, two nights ago, a knock against my rented cellÆs door answered no face but a package. In this package, I found a neatly placed letter. I did not read the letter till later that day while watching commercials. I read the first part by the time the news came back on. Yet, I found myself too entranced in the letterÆs content to pay attention.

Quote: Dear ASCN,
I cannot begin to imagine or to know what happened. I was a pilot among pilots, those crazy jocks that could handle a spacecraft. While none of value, I was one that stepped out of the academy and hoped to change the universe. I fought unlike the others; I fought for what was right and not for what was fun. My hope, my dreams, and my desires faded with the wrecking of destruction: my vessel first, my pod after. Not once but that of constant did I find myself repeating the same form of destruction. Despite my ability to continue in a new form, the passed on memories of failure haunted me to the point I had nothing more left to fight for. Never having the skill, never able to make decisions of perfection; I was among nobodies, the left behind, and the forgotten. While I do not know who it was in person who stood up for me, I remember a worn and beaten soldier, torn down also because he too fought for what was right and just. Unlike the autocannon bearers of old, who laughed at death and lived on the sucking of destruction. This beaten fellow however, he stood me up, shook off the dust and whispered with those bloody lips, ôHey, youÆre not completely useless.ö I liked himà I never remembered his name. However, as he turned to walk off, his shoulder bore the wings of an alliance I will never forget. Later I learned that he was among the last of his party, off to defend the last patch of home he knew. Him, like those of his party, were like alliances were; targeted when weak, taken advantaged of, and lead to destruction because they existed. While I cannot but begin to imagine why he fights, I can only believe something truly dear to him was robbed to a cause that might have been justified by an action of another. For one to go about, whom as I gaze as his skin, I can tell he hasnÆt fought a single fight before, I stand neutralized; I stand gazing at an innocent, caught in the crossfire of the accused and those that deserve such a punishment. However, this pilot, he doesnÆt need to fight such a fight. He doesnÆt deserve such a fate. Why then, does he fight? Does he know it was his brother that caused such an action? Or maybe his enemies, those foes of his, perhaps they are like the autocannon bearers of old? Regardless, he does not need to fight this fight! Why do you fight? If only I could scream those words to him as he further disappeared down the rusted corridor. I never did. Two weeks later, after further understanding the turmoil of the war. I ran into a comrade of his; the pilot whoÆs glance alone gave me the strength to live again. I told him my tale and I told him what I wanted to ask him. The man smiled and told me it wasnÆt the first time someone had asked that wing-bearing boy headed home to fight, that very same question. His answer: that he knew his brother caused such a cold suffer upon himself and like me, he too needed to be lifted up and told that he too, wasnÆt useless. A single mistake did not earn the right to be wiped off existence. While I do not know the reason the enemy fights, I know the reason of this pilot, this bloodied up fellow whom I do not know his name. I know he fights for his brother, for his home that shouldnÆt be laid flame to, and under the wings of a badge on his shoulder, baring the wings of ASCN. To them, I write this letter. To them, I wish them all the hope I can. Lastly, to that torn pilot, I pray that you never stop fighting.
Yours in faith, Another random pilot
P.S. Bring him home when the fighting is over.
When finished, I sat in silence while the news continued. Upon hearing of the alliance titled Band of Brothers on the winning ends of the war in the south, I found myself reaching for my jacket. My friend of whom IÆve not heard of for a long time wanted me to deliver a letter of which I assumed she would never write and I wasnÆt going to miss the chance to do so.

thank you for this, and I echo the sentiment, We will never stop fighting. If I have to ducktape a civilian railgun to my pod, I will never stop fighting.

"I won't say a goddam* word. Why? They won't understand. They won't understand why we do it. They won't understand, it's about the men next to you. That's it. That's all it is..."
Suck it up BoB.
"Band of Brothers" is a propaganda bull****ting organization if ever I knew one, and it starts right up with the name. You know it, BoB, this time you're going down.
