Hey guys, I've been wanting to go into a wormhole for a while now, to try out some PvE action.
Finally I'm skilled enough to fly a vexor gallente ship. So I'd like to ask you guys what I should fit my ship with? And also what tips do you have for me, going into my first wormhole? I've got 3 friends who's played EVE for longer than 2 years, so they'll come also. But they havn't actually done a wormhole before.

I know you at excited to explore a wormhole but a be or is not a good PVE choice, even in a C1 there's a good chance you'll be going home in a pod, battle cruisers are a good choice for PVE and in a group noobs are reasonably safe, personally I like a myrmidon for C1&2's even C3's in a fleet.
But as you will probably fly it in anyway and lose it, just don't go off wormholes, they are a great part of Eve, just checkout the wormhole subforum, there is a sticky for ship fittings (you won't mitre a lot of before there) message me in game if you'd like to see a Myrm fit. |

For c1 (each but *the line*) and maybe the perimeter anoms in a c2 (cause of how spawns are positioned), this vexor works:

Do some research before you warp straight to the first combat anomaly you see. would not be pretty warping a vexor to a c6 site
Spreadsheets of fun
look over the link and use it when you're running sites to keep things manageable.

Don't go into a hole your first time with a T1 Cruiser, as stated you likely won't be leaving in it.
A covert ops ship or an Astero are best for you first time in. You need to spend time in the environment. Getting used to no local, learning to be paranoid on the D-scan. Scanning and bookmarking other holes inside. Taking a look around to see if their are locals, and if so are they active during the time your in there.
If you have the chance and see someone in a hole working the NPC. Warp in cloaked to a safe distance and observe how they are dealing with the spawn. Note the ship and weapons, and how the pilot manages the spawn. This will give you a good start on what to do or not to do.
The Sleeper NPC is a lot tougher than the empire NPC, other than incursions and their difficulty ramps up with each higher level WH.
Use Tripwire or other mapping web app to keep track of the many things you need to keep track of so you don't get lost and know what you have scanned down already. The app will also tell you the level of WH and a lot of other information about the system you just arrived into.
So don't go in without the ability to warp cloaked, and can scan probe well, both combat and core scanner probes, and just look around and explore until you get the idea of how things work in that space.
Then try your hand with a warship on the NPC. |

Also, I know this will seem basic, but remember to bookmark both sides of the hole you come in on, as well as check mass and time left on it. That will save your butt.
As for ships, I use a HM passive drake with omni-resist tank. It handles c2 sites just fine, as long as you don't shoot the trigger ships. 6 hml II, offline core probe launcher, 10mn ab, 2 LSE II, 2 invul II, EM hardener, 3 BCS, DC II or flux coil, and 3 purger rigs.
Good luck, and feel free to hit.me up in game! |

...and no matter what ship you do eventually go in, bring a 'kit' with you. It should contain a mobile depot, a cloak (if you have none fitted), a probe launcher and some spare probes. Get really used to bookmarking entrances and exits (and do so not from the scan window as 100% hits will not give you a good warp-to-zero). D-scan is your friend, take note of ships in space, if you detect tower forcefields (a good way to know if someone else lives there).

What she said. Even if it does sound weird to have this, it can save you much trouble.
Listen also what Verdis said, since a Drake can deal with most of what class one and two sleepers through at you. So I suggest you use one or a Brutix, Myrmidon, Harbinger. I am not sold on trying this with a Prophecy, since you will loose your drones when you are unexperienced.
So a Drake is more forgiving and needs less resources that the other battlecruiser. Ammo is what does the most damage, type doesn't matter since the first 'layer' of sleeper has about 70% resistance across all the rainbox resistances - evenly.
Don't forget to look on eve-survival.org for 'triggers' because if you go blindly into a site and mess this up you will go home shipless or get stuck without the bookmarks you need to make.
Navigation by bookmark can take some time to get used to but will save your gear. Isk is good even in the lower classes and the risk is appropiate. In my opinion the risk vs reward is at the right scale. And wormholes are not as scary as they are made up to be.
Tired of low and nullsec? Join Eve Minions and experience the beauty of wormholes!

Just remember, Do Not take a ship into a WH that you can not afford to lose. Also you can use www.eveeye.com to get information on the WH you just jumped into. If you have your heart set on trying any WH in a cruiser, get a Gila when you can afford it, but starting out, I would personally try gas mining instead of the combat sites until you see how it all works. |

In all honesty train for a t3 cruiser for pve in wormholes. They got great tank, hit hard, amazing for pvp, and you can easily make back the isk ratting in a wh and then plenty more after that. Also if it is your first time going into a wormhole train gas harvesting, that stuff is amazing. If you got 3 other friends coming with you I would recommend you 4 train into a t3 cruiser of the same type with the same fittings and remote reps and go in a c4 and ratt sites in there. I am currently in a wh corp living in a c4 and we always use our tengu's to ratt the sites. We usually do sites with 2-3 people and we let 1 other low SP player have all the salvage as he/she trains into a tengu. Isk is amazing in a wh you just got to have the right skill points in the right areas to get that good isk wormholes are all about. A little tool to help you in wormholes https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17cNu8hxqJKqkkPnhDlIuJY-IT6ps7kTNCd3BEz0Bvqs/pubhtml# C4 ratting in tengus makes hundreds of mil an hour (does depend on number of sites ofc) but again as long as you got the right skill points in the right areas youll love wormholes. |

No, don't do this. In every class you have better ships doing the job for less costs than a T3 and you'll never loose skillpoints if you use non-T3.
