Theres some stoopid person in my region that went through the entire active market and placed buy orders on everything; 10,000 units @ 1 isk each...
Shouldnt there be laws agenst market griefers?
That just makes my job harder, sifting through the numbers to find people who are actually using the market and people who are just abusing the market.
Anyone else have this problem? Anyone else think there should be a way to 'show only orders between # and # isk'?

That would be an excellent feature Mr Drake... have you posted this on the ideas forum?

List them in order of decreasing price. Ignore the ones at the bottom of the list. Job done.

Market demand at those low prices is supposed to be huge compared to at higher prices. They are merely constructing a more believable demand curve. Nothing wrong with that.

Hehe, thing is I dont want to see his dumb buy order at all, ever! If blocking him made all his craptacular buy orders dissapear I'd be happy.
As for the demand curve; you have GOT to be kidding... He isnt doing anything besides jacking with the newbes. You walk into a car shop with $1 and say you wana buy a new 2003 car they're just gona laugh at you and tell you to get lost! You offer 10% less then what they are asking you're much more likely to get someone to listen to you.
He may want it at 1 isk but the only person that will ever sell anything to him at that price is the people who accidntally press the 'sell now' button in which case its an exploit/scam.
I have nothing agenst putting up a realistic buy price, but asking 1 isk for every skill, every ship and every module isnt someone whos playing the market correctly, hes just being annoying as hell and I **wish** there was a way to block people like that.

So what if the noobs sell them some stuff that the noobs loose out on. It's a lesson learnt better in the beginning than later on when they actually got some valuable stuff.
And no matter how you try to spin it. The demand argument holds. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it don't exist. It's your analogy that's useless buddy.
Stop whining about everything.

In any real world, though, the people running the market would refuse to carry ridiculously low offers, citing a waste of their time. Yes, there's almost an infinity of demand for apocalypses at 1ISK each, but that does NOT mean you should be allowed to place orders for them on the market. No sensible marketplace manager would accept the order.

Aye, probably right if that's the way you think of it though. I'm thinking of it as a purely electronic peer to peer one (that also being it's reason for full transparency and the perfect information kinda). Instead of one that would require some sort of market maker or so.
