I massively apologise to all if this is a seriously dumb question but ive pondering it for a while now. Im a complete noob to 0.0 having never been there before but im about to join a corp based in 0.0 who belong to a large alliance. I plan to do a bit of mining to support myself but where will i be able to sell the ore/minerals?

It's quite likely the alliance will buy them, or an industrialist in the alliance, to build you ships and modules out there.

depends what ore?, t1 strips or t2 strips with crystals?, is someone tanking the belt?, if yes are they helping mine?, are they taking a share?, is there a hauler too?
Ark/Bist/Crok are the best general ores(no special skills required), Merx is a bit more specalist

Well couple of things to take into account:
The rats are huge and powerful in 0.0 so be prepared for that.
If you are not in a Hulk, your mining barge will get destroyed in under 10 seconds when the rats spawn if you don't pay attention and always remain aligned to warp.
If you are lucky the outpost will have a refinery; if not, you will have to refine at the POS which takes 90 minutes and can only have one type of mineral in it at a time.
Check your corp website about selling minerals back to the corp. Most corps will buy minerals from their miners as they need them in order to build ships and modules as previously stated. On the other hand, if you stock up your minerals and make friends with someone who has a carrier or freighter you can make a killing hauling the minerals back to Empire and selling.
Best advice, make friends and mine in groups, take turns hauling, participate in corp mining ops and you will find yourself making a nice living in 0.0

To expand on Nuumb's comment: Lots of corps will *require* that you sell the ore to them at published rates, so you might want to clear that up before you join up.

I make 12m/hour solo in a retriever mining arkonor or bistot with strip miners. I use a bestower to haul.
I sell the minerals at a conquerable station in the system.
Fit two nanofibers on your low slots (warp almost 30% faster).
I am able to scout and mine solo without getting blown up. If the rats warp in it's easy to warp out without anything past shield. (Experience with angels in -1.0 sec).
Fit a tractor beam and 4 cargo expanders (bestower), warp in start to target the can, warp out and you can get the can to your ship (with an insta to the can, lands you around 4k) before you warp out.
It's daring, and I have lost a fair ammount of retrievers in the past 2 months, but I haven't lost one in weeks (I started paying attention, also our local pirates got war decced so they left us alone).
This method payed for my BS.

No such thing as a dumb question on these forums. Dumb answers though..... ![Wink](/images/icon_wink.gif)
You can sell the minerals anywhere you want. Low end minerals always sell well in 0.0 space, if you can put them up for sale in a station with factory slots (people don't like trying to move 20m trit, for example....) High end minerals do sell in 0.0 space too, but you generally won't get the full Empire price for them. If you're prepared to move the high end minerals into Empire (it's never worth moving anything below nocxium out of 0.0), it'll cost you time (which you could have spent doing some more money making in 0.0) but you'll generally get a higher price.
All in all, you should never have a problem offloading megacyte or zydrine

hell, with the pita it is of moving crystals, it's usually worth hording the nocx too, or at least chunks of it(this is assuming your using T1 crystals, T2s are a whole other story)
