I'd like some feedback on my Domi rat set-up. So far I can tank a 1.4 mil Guristas rat spawn no problem. This is a 0.0 only ship but not used in PvP.
Hi's Dual 250 Rails X3 Dual 250 Rail Compressed Coil X2 Small Tractor Beam
Mid's Cap Recharger X4 100 mn AB
Lo's Kinetic Hardener X2 Thermic Hardener Large Arm Repair Adaptive Nano Plating Damage Control Capacitor Power Relay
Wasp Drone X5 Ogre Drone X5 Med Repair Drones X5 (for the drones)
These are all T1 as I can not fit T2 yet so that is not an option.
Will eventually replace the plain Duals with better.

The Domi's a very versatile ship, equally at home PvE as PvP, and considering you are ratting in 0.0 I'd sorta advise a hybrid setup, that can handle at least some PvP in case unwelcome guests come calling...
Try something like this?
High: 2 * Best named heavy nos you can afford. 3-4 Best named 250mm rails (the cruiser variety) as they do as much if not more DoT than dual 250s. 0-1 Tractor beam (for rapid can scavenging and moving quickly onto the next rat)
Mid: Best named 100mn AB (get into <20Km range where speed to target of both heavy drones AND max dmg from the 250s will rip up even the largest rat mucho fast) 1 * Target painter, pref T2. 1 * Drone mod (the one that gives 2 bonuses to drones, can't rmbr the name) 2 * Best named cap jobbies, preferably Eutectics.
Low: 1 * LAR & 1 * MAR (best named you can afford) 3-4 Active hardners (prefer 4 meself) 1-2 Cap jobbies
Drones: Rat specific.
Run the 4 hardners non-stop, mostly run the MAR and AB (till you get into 15-20 Km range, of course you will be nossing them by then so have no cap issues), paint them, heavy drones and 250s hammer away, run the LAR once in a while if you need, and of course no AB once you're into optimal, so again cap will not be an issue...
This setup will become much more effective as you add in T2 tank, 240 rails, target painter and drones, and if you are all T1 then its also prolly the best hybrid, cause if some1 turns up and attempts to kill your Domi, they need to have cajones AND skill AND very specific ship. They may be in a gang of course, in which case hopefully you'll take several of them with you before you warp off
Hope that helps

I used to run almost that exact setup but I ended up losing two 250mm for 2 heavy nos for when I do get into PvP encounters I at least have somewhat of a chance.

I use a similar set up - I would recomend losing the damage control and swaping out for an additional passive nano II - then train up your compensation skills to get the most from the two passive hardners.

I`ve been using this two setups to rat
2x e500 Heavy Nos 2x Dual250 Prototype 1x Small Tractor Beam 1x Drone Link Augmentation
1x 100MN AB2 4x Cap Recharger
1x Large Acco Rep 1x each Kin/Therm/Exp Hardener 1x Damage Control (for those "**** didnt pay attention - in structure again") 2x Cap Power Relay
5x Rat-Specific Heavy Drone + assortment of Drones for self defense :)
This one i`ve been using recently and it`s even easier ;)
2x e500 Heavy Nos 4x Drone Link Augmentation
3x Omnidirectional Tracking Link 1x Sensor Booster 1x Cap Recharger (just in case - dont actually need it i think)
2x Large Acco Rep 1x each Kin/Therm/Exp Hardener 1x Damage Control (for those "**** didnt pay attention - in structure again") 1x Cap Power Relay
5x Warden I + some drones for self defense again ;)
-> warp in at 100km, deploy drones, blow BS out of the sky, next Belt - no looting tho

Go for:-
5 x 720mm named artillery 1 x heavy nos
5 x eutectic or tech II cap rechargers
2 x large armour rep II 3 x rat specific hardeners 2 x cap relay
Tank should run 24/7. Use tech II ogres.

Edited by: Brother Zephyl on 17/11/2006 14:59:03 Edited by: Brother Zephyl on 17/11/2006 14:57:05 That seems a pretty good setup, one of my chars also use a Domi to kill 0,0 Angels with a setup very close to yours.
High :
1 tractor beam 3 large nos 2 medium nos
Medium
100 mn AB 4 best cap rechargers ( excstatic or whatever the name is )
Low
1 T1 Large named rep 1 T1 med rep 2 T1 explo hard ( angels do mostly explo dmg ) 1 EANM 1 1600 RT plate 1 Dammage Control
Drones :
5 T1 heavies explo for the spawn between 0-20 kms 5 sentries explo for the bs who have an optimal of 40 kms ( no need to run after them if u have a triple bs spawn 5 T2 light explo to take out frig sized npc
Gallente BS skill to lvl 4 Drones SP : 2,5 millions
The advantage of this setup is that you dont use ammos and its also a cheap setup, it's all T1 mod, the only costly mod is the dammage control, dont remember wich one is it but its around 10-15 millions, so its perfect for ninja npcing in deep ennemy territory if you need too.
Also, Angels have pretty good resist to hybrid ammo so i just let the drones do the work. I can tank pretty much all the angels triple spawn , considering I use the nos to keep the cap full. The only hard time i have soometimes if when i arrive at a belt and a triple bs spawn at 1,8 mill is already at 30 kms far, so i havbe to warp at least once if there is no cruiser or frig to cap drain near me.
I never tried the guristas spawn but i know that the angels hit pretty hard, so a good tank , cap and rep is essential.

The artillery is basically just there to agress the rats, they don't do that much damage but they help a little. You can drop one of the guns for tractor beam to save time getting at the loot. (tidy up after yourself :o)

All of your setup are nice and all, I'm just curious why noone mentions blasters? It could be that it is only usefull against Angels or whatever.
My setup is: High: 4 X Anode Mega Neutron Particle Cannon I (Antimatter), 2 X Small Tractor Beam I
Med: 5 X F-b10 Nominal Capacitor Regenerator (use whatever you can find, better is ofc always more attractive)
Low:
1 X Large 'Accommodation' Vestment Reconstructer I, 1 X Medium Armor Repairer II, 2 X Capacitor Power Relay I (better named always preferred but not essential to running it) 2 X N-Type Explosive Hardener I 1 X N-Type Kinetic Hardener I
Drones: 5 Rat Specific Heavy Drones (Berserkers)
This setup rips through any Battleship spawn (requires some points in gunnery) and will run 24 /7 with all guns blazing. The Tank will repair 96.666 armor /sec 60 % EMP resist 74.555199568 % EXP resist 67.5 % KIN resist 35 % THERM resist

I really like the dual-large-repper-3-resists-dual-cap-rechargers low setup for ratting with T1 kit. It's cheap, effective, can soak a _ton_ of damage, and doesn't run into the CPU problems that you'll hit when you upgrade to T2. You can run both large reppers permanently with decent cap skills and lots of named cap rechargers in the mids. ---

Also, don't invest in cap recharger II. You will have big CPU problems fitting them when you upgrade to a T2 tank. Stick to eutectic or else shell out for the true sansha or dread gurista rechargers ; they barely cost more than the insanely inflated cap recharger ii these days, and they fit with much less CPU trouble. ---

3Xdual250 named with antimatter (hits out to 30km) 1xmedium remote armor repper (for drones) 1x Heavy + 1x Medium NOS (for critical tanking phases or some pk ceptor)
100mn AB for approaching BS-rats 4x good named rechargers
2xnamed large reppers (vestment or automated), 3xactive hardener kin/therm/exp, 2xcaprelay
works like charm against all NPCs - might change hardeners according to rats if the space is safe, otherwise better to cover all resists
5xOgre II
costs nearly nothing, easy replacable and kills everything. Just have to warp out _very_ rarely if triple BSs are 50+km away

This is a Angel Rat setup (so need 3 resists). This can tank and kill 3x 1.85 m BS spawn with 3 BC escorts with no problem whatsoever.
Highs: 4 best named NOS 1 tractor 1 drone distance thingee
Mid: 5 Eutectic Cap rechargers
Lows: TechII Large Armor rep 5 tech II hardners (for angels 2 exp 2 kin 1 therm)Think I might have N-type in place of 2 of the techII's cant remember if all tech II fit. 1 tech II EANM
14 heavies in drone bay use what the rats are weak to exp in my case so I use Bezerkers. Of course techII is best but use what ya got.
