It's been a long time running but I realized that after nearly 8 years, and a lot of time sunk into the game for next to nothing in the end, I've decided to biomass my character.
The tiredness of paying a subscription to a game that should've been made free to play a long time ago.
The tiredness of the ever increasing grind for isk and downright forcing to create alt accounts to afford to live by and play decently in this game without making it feel like a second RL job.
Im tired of this game, and tired of myself battling with it to be able to afford to play in it, tired of all the bullshit mechanics inside, tired of the same old cunts who simply that I would not want to listen to blabble about innate **** on teamspeak.
Just tired overall, and especially when I realise this game taught me literally nothing of use when I compare my successes irl to those in this game. Zero.
Eve was a fun game while it lasted, but no more since quite a while ago.
So long. |

F*ing drama queens. Nobody actually quits EVE. Some people just show up less and less, some lurk the forums, some keep playing until they die, and then you have the drama queens who want to tell you how much they are quitting! Maybe they just want out.
They'll never get out. It's like smoking.
I can't use Mozilla Firefox to post in the EVE Forums. Please help, CCP! I'm dying!

pretty much. or they still check eve news from time to time. See it all the time on eve's facebook page, people saying 'i quit xx years ago.. if they fix this i'll be back' lol
funny thing is most of these complaints are like wha? The isk grind is.. non existent. i can make lots of isk in a single day, i just don;t play that way. never get why people whine about not having enough isk.

F*ing drama queens. I've done that. Planned break anyway, too busy with a lot of time away from my gaming computer. Planned 3-6mo's, but got a new ISP that turned out to be huge fail, drops and all that. So six turned into 9 when I finally got a new ISP that works. So no biggy, one left, anither returns (been back for a bit).
Btw OP, the only thing worse than a broken ISP, IS any f2p game. Luk with that... |

The game is just an escape from reality, into a much different one. Some people do drugs, watch TV, go bungee-jumping. Of course, one can combine all other escapes from reality and play EVE as well, but EVE ain't bad as an escape. I like risk, giant space lasers, and starships. Not going to get that many other places in a persistent setting.

They can't say that, because:
A- They aren't really leaving (people who leave do so quietly)
And
B- The real reason for the post is to gain sympathy/see who else feels the same way and maybe to get someone with power to change things to suit them more.

its because they suck, so when they switch to F2P fan bois tend to fork out more money then subs would make, so the crappy games stay a float as oppose to die a death they should of. =D
Unless they are desined to be F2P from the start, ala Guild Wars.

Quite honestly, GW2 sux too, outside of WvW anyway. It's actually a B2P, or suppose to be. All F2P's are scams, and they sacrifice actual fun factor design onto the alter of the cash cow to the few stupid enough to compulsively spend $1000's in the item shops until financially ruined. It's all a cold and calculating marketing science.

Unfortunately GW2 is NOT free to play. You pay once for the game and then get to play, after that yopu pay for all the bigger expansions and last I checked for eome vanity items.

I've met people in that game who claim they have spent over $5k just in a year or two of playing, and I don't doubt it.
It's not just vanity items, definitely not. Buy gems, buy junk out of their game store, sell on the TP to other players. Use that gold to buy components to make weapons and armor sets that can take over a year to grind out for just one character. Yes, fully p2w now. Then there is gambling, by buying gems to unlock black lion chests that have a slim chance to drop valuable rare junk.
They have done everything they promised they wouldn't do before the game launched (I played gw1), and most people left the game as a result. It's actually a pretty freaking dead game now, gw2. They finally started working on an expansion, but likely it's too late, hard to just go back to original promises and get players back again after breaking all those promises.
And like I mentioned, wvw maybe (if you were able to get on an open active wvw server which you cant now after server transferes). But forget pve, unless you are just looking to do quick and very easy content so you can get back to WoW asap. After all the WoW kitten hoards cried for easy content and anet listened with glee in hopes for huge item shop loots. Launch was nice, modestly challenging content, but all since revamped to very very very easy. /rant
