Hi,
I have this issue,
I really like this game, been playing it a while.
But you see, I like RL more, i dont want to spend much time with this game more than I have to.
Only just to log in, do whatever i feel like for a little bit and log off.
I am willing to put 3h a week into this game.
My issue with that ammount of time and the options available to me ingame to be able to afford it (ie some pvp and losing/replacing ships), simply dont allow me to do so without a minimum effort of at least 8hrs a week.
I do not have such time, yet, I still want to pay my sub and play the way i'd like to.
I cannot afford to buy PLEX as I prefer saving my money for other more important stuff.
So here are the options laid out:
Trading ? Impossible as I'd have to log on every couple hours every day to adjust prices if my aim is to make good income in a competitive market.
Ded sites module farming ? Not possible, as that alone would take a good couple of hours to find and run through, not to mention the irrecoverable risk of losing a ratting ship next to my limited playtime allowance.
WH Pi ? Not worth the effort as most wh alliances and corps would require a time dedication that i simply cannot give, not mention how I hate being forced on TS to listen to you guys blabble crap in my ears within the comfort of my own home.
Empire Pi ? Not worth the hauling and preparation effort to make it feasible within my playtime.
Null Exploration ? A likely contender, but the ammount of time usually taken to find a good enough site trumps all over my playtime allowance, good relic sites with tech 2 mods bp's in are scarce, and good data sites even more.
Incursions ? Nope, the time it takes finding a fleet easily trumps my playtime, and no way would I want to find myself ratting for all the time I have.
Scamming ? A very likely contender, as I've never really tried it. Im open to private suggestions/help on this.
So yea, if you guys have any other ideas, feel free to add in. It's either I find a solution to this soon or Im pretty much biomassing all my **** for good, as I dont see the point, nor do I see myself playing this game in the far future.
Cheers.

I will create content with it that shall maybe persuade the wow-refugee that replaces you to stay. But for real ill teach you how to do it all and make isk woth 45mins 3 times a week, just send 50mill as course class registration fee |

Open further rereading of your post, you seem to have your priorities out of whack dude. Have more important things to spend money on that plex? Have more imporntant things to do with your time than eve?

I belive Call of Duty is the game you are looking for, or Wold of Warcraft.
Honest question, how did you come to be here with us in eve? What did you expect?
See an ad? Read a story bout a big heist? Saw tale about giant fleet battle on reddit? Friend reccomend it?
Please be honest, trying to figure out what entised you to come try this video game in the first point to see how to help you. |

Why can't you do DED sites?
Use a low population area or something like a highsec pocket and you'll find plenty of sites to run within 3 hours. A 4/10 only takes around 10-20 mins for example. Unless you have very low skill points in scanning/combat there's no reason you can't do this. |

if you cant afford to buy a plex and cant really afford to put more than 3 hours and rl things are better than playing a game you "enjoy" then why even bother playing, will you log off exactly 3 hours from logging in?
maybe facebook games might suit you a bit better, nobody forces you to play eve so the mindset that "i dont want to spend much time with this game more than I have to" is pretty lame

Okay so in response to the smartarse remarks, Ive had the pleasure to be with you delicate folk for quite some time now, half a decade. Isk had never been an issue back when i could still put in the niche hours and dedication necessary, free time was not an issue then and I do know what it means to be entirely invested in Eve, or as some other guy earlier said, it was "meant" to be played...
But all thats hardly the issue, the above is simply not possible anymore due to Rl time schedule and other, yes "more important" activities, ie: directly related to Rl concerns, which i habe the regret to say none if you nerds actually asocial beings fit into ;). It comes down to still wanting to play Eve and not have to spend more than 300 bucks a year on plex and sub just to keep some form of fun pvp activity going ingame. Frankly most here would agree this as an insane alternative, save for those fat single men with large bank accounts ;) I much sadly don't fit in that category though ...
Practical responses offering a practical solution to remain ingame are welcome, the rest, you know where the door is. Ty.

get an exploration ship, run to 0.0, hunt down data and relic sites which could net me another 500m if i'm luck.

join an alliance and time my play time with a cta or a fleet roam.
You don;t need to join a corp or alliance to do wh's, you can make your own corp, spend a few week looking, fin a hole that is empty, set up, milk it for a month or two, and leave. If you play your cards right and can solo your home or static, you could net a couple billion in a few months, then go pvp for a few months, then reset in the wh. it really is not that bloody hard to do stuff.

3H a week is doable in FW if you are efficient. You need to identify low traffic systems belonging to the enemy faction and use a small high DPS ship like a blaster frigate or a destroyer to capture enemy complexes. 50M/Hr doing this is achievable if, once again, you pick your system cluster well and avoid pvp until after you've grabbed enough LP to pay for your ships. So you spend an hour or so farming LP and then another hour or two looking for fights you can win solo or flying with a militia fleet in something cheap.
You'll have to occasionally take time out to convert LP into ISK but this isn't too difficult once you get the hang of it. To make enough LP though you will need to run a couple of novice/small outposts in the least trafficked systems you can find in something with ~200 DPS that is hard to catch.

I'd probably run missions, do some lowsec pi and look out for industrial opportunities that would fit in the given playtime. Usually I can be interrupted at any given time, so add that to the list of restrictions.
As soon as I feel comfortable with the size of my wallet, I'd shop some minerals and everything else needed to build stuff. Then i'd watch out for some fleetmates and make sure to get some decent explosions out of my assets.

Cut down to 1 account, pay subscription.
On 1 character, do trading. 3h/week is enough to make at least 500 mil a month (1 bil would be quite feasible though). Especially if you can use 70 minutes of those 3 hours to log on daily and do a quick 10-minute update of orders.
On 1 character, PVP. Unless you just use caps or faction bs and you're bad and/or reckless, you're not going to lose more than 500 mil a month if you PVP for less than 8 hours.
The 3rd character could trade as well, boosting your income and/or lowering the time spent not PVP-ing.
You're welcome.

I'm not going to troll solely because the op brings up a point.
How do you play Eve on 3 hours a week.
Or...
How do you play eve casually.
It's a significant issue CCP has been trying to address for ...ever.
To the op.
You won't make a difference in anybody's life on 3 hours a week. You are a casual player. You cannot grind isk, go on fleet ops, do crazy flight skills, etc... But you have options depending on what you like...
Fastest way to pew, fleet warfare (lowsec). Can also pve farm stuff and lp. You can also do pi in alternate lowsec areas. This is probably your main area of enjoyment. On the pi stuff, pick systems with low traffic, near highsec islands, out of fleet warfare areas uncontrolled by your groups
Exploration. You can dive c1 through c3 wormholes to do their sites. You can also use these wormholes to travel to null to do their sites
Missions are a limited option.
You have to find what you enjoy about the game. Ultimately what will keep you playing is not the activity, but the friends you make in the game.
Yaay!!!!

Your title for this topic is rather incorrect "3h per week" , it should say something like this "How do i make fast ISK... me want Plex quickly !!!".
Then you write a wall of text, with how you have failed to make the ISK that you need to complete the task you have set yourself. Then want a answer after you have made some rather crude comments to what others have posted.
Clearly you should delete your posts & start again with this:
12hrs of online time per month to make a Plex (For my subscription) & enough ISK to pvp & do other stuff. Please someone give me the information on how to make ISK so quickly...
Don't ever write "Clear enough ? " to me OP, thats asking for trouble. How rude I will hunt you down in my Gila & teabag your frozen corpse with my Fedo's.. They like to teabag

The Irony here is that EVE Online is light years more 'accessible' to new players and players with limited time than ever before. The game now has effective ships and weapons that are super cheap as well super easy to train for (thanks to tiercide) while at the same time making isk is so ridiculously easy it's almost a crime.
And yet we still we get threads like this, proving something I've believed for a longtime: No amount of 'lowering barriers to entry' or dumbing down a game will ever be enough for some people, because the problem isn't the game's barriers (or even limited play time do to real life), it's the self-limiting and self-defeating nature of the people who complain about tings being to hard. 3 hours per week is more than enough for a player that really wants to play. |

Doesn't bother me one way or another, but that amount of time is pretty much useless if you have to stick to only 3 hours a week. If that's just and avg and you get more play time certain weeks then that's different For instance ive been working a lot more this last week cause of things going on at work, don't get to do much and my alliance mates know that, that in mind they also know ill be available more often again after this project is done.
That and you saying Quote: But you see, I like RL more, i dont want to spend much time with this game more than I have to.
sound like you don't have any restrictions like work or anything like that and makes you sound like a lazy bum looking for free ISK or just trolling the forums in general. |

If you want to play a few hours a week and make ISK, find a proper organization that backs its fleets with ship replacement and you get your selective gameplay and income.
Provided you've skilled your character properly, such organizations have turned soldiering into a profession, by definition. You fill a role, and make ISK.
No more PVE, you log in at predictable times, have fun playing, and get ISK when you die.
Karmafleet is recruiting. We die a lot.

3 hrs a week is plenty.
Start a forum and charge your forum members 10 dollars each.
Have all of them join you playing Eve.
Then you can cut the hours. Log in 3 hours per month and "command" them.
Easy peasy. You don't even have to play the game... and could even do less than 3 hours per month.

And the list could surely go on I hope ...
If you guys have any other ideas, feel free to add in. It's either I find a solution to this soon or Im pretty much biomassing all my **** for good, as I dont see the point, nor do I see myself playing this game in the far future.
Cheers. Good for you. Many players leave the game for the sake of time. Don't be stupid, go get married, have kids, get promoted. Buy a console and play console games. EVE Online has some problems, and is good for unemployed, part time employed, employed at boring jobs, single, university and other folks who have more free time on their hands.
i guess you are all of the above? i'm not so dunno where you get that from :/

Some low-class industrial-based wormhole corp would probably fit you nicely. They're mostly all hardcore carebears anyways, with little demand on their members for constant calls to arms. You could run sites and PI at your leasure, whenever you have free time to play, as long as you are able to log in for short durations regularly to restart the extractors.

Getting the ISK and do PvP for fun all in 3h is hard (I personally hate market stuff) ... I would recommend to split, do a week of relic exploration in Sansha nullsec (one jump clone), then a week solo PvP in budget ships (2nd clone) and so forth (or whenever you need ISK). If you are very good, you can fund your PvP out of the PvP loot. Also you should have an eye on the NPSI communities like Spectre Fleet and Bombers Bar to join a roam, whale hunt if the time fits (3rd bomber clone in Thera). But you should have your solo activities as backup if no fleet is up. The best is to have different options set up, so you always have something fun to do when logging in regardless when.

To the OP,
Trading isn't as time intensive as you think it is. If you have max orders with Wholesale IV trained (around 120-130 I think) You can log on for about 30 min a day and update orders and look for new items in that time, and it's plenty to make you some good ISK once you have good items and ISK invested. People go wrong with trading when they treat it like a job. It's fun for me (although PvP is more fun), so it's not so bad. But once you log in to do it because you feel like you have to, then it becomes really obnoxious.
As a side note, while you don't HAVE to log in every day to station trade, you'll notice that you have lower profits after you do skip a day. It really pays off when you are consistent. |

Even at 12 hours per month, paying your sub with real money is still cheap entertainment per hour compared to many hobbies. Just buy sub then use your three hours to do whatever you find entertaining and don't have to worry about isk. It's a game for your enjoyment, after all, no stress on you needed. gl
I need to check out Hello Kitty Island Adventure. It must be a good game as people in EvE tell me all the time that I should be playing it.

There are a lot of people out there that don't live and breathe Eve 24/7. It sometimes seems that this community assumes that all the players only work, play Eve, and sleep. Some of us enjoy other things, have other hobbies, and play different games with the spare time that we have. |

Life is about choices, so if you choose to do other things instead of play EVE, that's your choice. I have a family, hobbies other than EVE and work 2 jobs (one full time, the other is only about 6 hours a week) and still have time to play EVE.
You get to make those life choices, what you don't get to do is get everyone else to adjust their situations to your life/time choices. Thats really what this thread is about, it's "wahh CCP make the game different so I can have fun in a way I want regardless of any other considerations such as the entire rest of the EVE community". |

You like to think so because of your habits of putting people down over this for too many years, but in my case it's not what I was going for.

Clearly you're too good for us op. I'm not sure why you even wanna play this game. I mean, why waste your precious time to interact with some no-life, fat losers when you clearly live the superior life, being a superior human being.
If i'd give some honest advice for only being able to play 3 hours a week I'd advice you join a big group doing what you enjoy doing in eve, then interact with them in game, but most importantly outside game on forums and other games and stuff. Perhaps even irl. EVE is so much more than just in game content.
But then again... come to think about it, you sound like a condescending, narcissistic shitlord, so i hope you decide on the latter in your OP.

This is a game. If you don't want to play it, don't play it.
That being said. You would probably be happy with faction war. Faction frigs and t1 stuff is cheap and you make LP by fighting and generally doing the things that get you fights anyway. As an added bonus you also get a militia chat to troll.

I'm pretty new to EVE, and only play casually (though more than 3 hours per week).
I'd have thought some lowse/null sec PI (I recently setup 2 characters doing this, covered all my costs in less than a month, it's all profit from now on - not huge, but it's there). once setup, that takes a minimal amount of time to keep going. I'd then use the rest of my time to run missions, even as a new player I can run L3s, with 2 agents in the same system.
I hope you find something,
good luck
