Drones!!!
Stay together, get the job done, move to the next target (TOGETHER!!!). Rinse and repeat.
Drones 1 and 4, DO NOT go over there and attack the disused jump gate, OR the mining colony!!
Thank you....dismissed!

Always hated that too, the random target thing. I mean sure, attack things that pose no threat and lets call it a bug, but please do it together

Treat 'em hard and rough - They like to know who's boss
Always be aware current target is about to pop and be ready to assign the idiots a new target. Works (most of the time) for me.
I know what you're saying tho. Ideally they would have a bit more logic about what to do next.
The difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong, it usually turns out to be impossible |

That they go off and attack random thinsg after killing the original target is one thing. However they also break off an attack against a target you have asked them attacked which is even worse. This seems to be happen more often when the targets is far away.

Possibly its intentional to stop people from aggroing entire deadspaces and going afk while their drones own everything.

Something i really hate with drones is when you got 5 drones and have to click 4 times for make them scoop in drone bay , because you see return to drone bay (3) scoop to drone bay (2) you choose one , then its return to drone bay (2) etc
Its not a huge problem of course , but when you have to do it a lot of times its a bit annoying ^^

having to give the same bloody order 6 times in a row in order to get them to do it isnt such a big problem if it were just a simple button click instead of a rightclick, choose, click combo every bleedin' time <<<< No Boundaries, No Fences, Fly Free Or Die Trying >>>>

People tend to forget just how much the drone code has improved as the game has progressed.
I remember that one patch that was tweaked their AI a bit, suddenly nobody was safe. Just about sunk a gangmate once by accident because the drones wouldn't quit aggroing him after the rats were dead.

ROFL - nice one shaun - little buggers!!
I also find that if I send them to attack a ship over 45km away (using a drone link augmenter) some of em get bored on the way and switch targets. I have to click "engage target" 2 or 3 times to make sure they all go for the same ship

Could be wrong, but after doing 1000's of missions in the moros last summer.
I think they only swap to non agressive statics if you actualy do damage to them.

This is true. Which brings me to my NEXT point.....FoF (Friend or Foe) missiles. Since when has ANY sedantary static object been classed as a foe? In my book, a foe is someone/thing that is shooting at me......NOT a disused jump gate OR mining colony!!

FoF's tend to shoot random things as well... like billboards.
