I didn't freak out, but last month I've moved and it took some time, before I had a dsl-flatrate and everything worked again.
My telephone bill (Internet via ISDN card) without flat was over 200 EURO and I've written at least 3 different mails reporting my problems on a weekend: Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
