Hi. Ok, been playing for 2+ months now. I have an extensive set of bookmarked locations, but get confused by other player mentions of instas. Is this just another name for bookmarking or does the term "insta" imply a more accurate/precise saved route or endpoint. Can someone please advise on this?

Insta's refer to bookmarks used to instantly arrive at a stargate, starbase or other key destination, as opposed to bookmarks used as safe-spots, sniperpoints, etc.

Check out the link in my signature to learn how to make instant bookmarks.
These may be going the way of the dodo here soon however, as CCP is testing the implementation of warp to 0 on the test server right now, and that may go live with Kali.

I concur. I think I would have turned tail and run after playing this game for a day or two if I hadn't come in here and seen such helpful and informative responses from people. This game is awesome, and the people make it so.

Yea that was the main selling point for me too, the kind of people who play this game, very helfull, mature and if there is disagreement some thought actually goes into the discussions. The community(edp' on forum) is excellent when compared to most other online games.
P.s. I was wondering what the diff' was :p, sorry for going off topic :)

Seriously tho, I try to be as helpful as I can, because new players are a good thing. More people playing means better things for EVE. We were all noobs at one time, hell I have been playing a little over a year and I still feel like a noob  .

just don't stray too far from the new member channels. You will find those flavorfull players just like the other mmorpg's
