So last night I got Mining IV in my queue, injected gas harvesting and trained it to 1. My site was still there so I made my new fit up as follows:

It seems to do it's job fine except for one thing. It's only letting me run one harvester at a time. It gives me the following message:
Quote:The Gas Cloud Harvester I cannot be activated as it requires access to resources and/or skills which 1 modules of the same purpose are already using up
Did I miss something here? Are you only supposed to be able to run one harvester per cloud at a time?

Just as I posted that I hit level II in Gas Cloud Harvesting.. which allows you to use 1 more gas harvester per level

Yeah I sort of assumed that it was like the Mining skill, +5% per cycle or something...

ok have other question. training gas cloud harv to V gives access to use 5 gas harvesters. but venture/prospect cant use only two . so . gas harvest in gnosis? i can get 6400m3 cargo in it thought . or use navy armageddon with 8095m3 . ut since we have two ships dedicated for two gas harvesters at one time. they either should be unlimited to fit or not allow gas harvesters to be used in anything else? |

You want to train Gas Harvesting 5 if you want to use the T2 Gas Harvesters, which if i recall correctly, harvest double what the T1 ones do. Only sink time time into training that if it's something you really like doing. Could help a lot if you ninja gas mine in WHs, giving you more gas before the sleepers spawn/locals catch you.

Hey Amak!
I'm using the Venture because it's the only one bonused for gas mining and it has a nice ore hold. I'd use a Prospect but that' s a ways off skillwise.

The Venture is quite a recent ship. Back in the day we used to do it in a Typhoon o.O The Ventures bonuses mean it beats a BS on harvest rate and capacity.

OP I don't mind helping people that have questions and don't understand things but seriously you came to to forums without so much as reading the description of the skill? FFS it took you longer to read Elena's post than if you had just read the skill description.
Amak back in the day before all these fancy ships that you youngins have now-a-days I used to put 5 gas harvesters on a BC and suck gas all night long. |

Just a hint due to a way that gas clouds are distributed I now know exactly where you're doing you Gas harvesting just because I know what type of gas you're sucking. 
Always be vary on what sort of information you give on about your PvE activities on these boards, not that anyone would particularly care about shooting a venture but if like gas harvesting then WH's are the way to go though I recommend on training for prospect before entering WH mainly due to cov ops cloak and 10m3 gas bay.
Just be aware of the 15min timer on rats when entering gas sites in WH. |
