I got my first kill in a war today. But it was only achieved because Concord helped out. I cant figure out why.
Kill Mail
Gallente Sentry Gun did 13177 dmg.
So what happened was I saw him come up in local. Undocked in a ONI and started firing. He must have been AFK. After about 4 volleys his ship exploded and the mail arrived. He never fired a shot at me.
Now I know I'm a noob, and I'm an indy mostly, but these guys are making some real noob actions. Or am I missing something? |

He most likely agressed a non war target (i.e. another player etc.) in a rush of blood to the head. Or he was drunk. |

i agree he miss fired locked wrong thing and in his lack of pvp experince turned off his warnings or clicked ok lol alot people panice under fire for first time. the adrinaline gets to them. |

Well, we are an Indy corp. We think they are just trying to get some easy kills for credit. Unfortunately we are also in completely different time zones so its rare to both be on at the same time.
It is a strange situation. |

My first death in EVE was from sentry guns because I accidently targeted and shot a station in my first War. Glad to see the tradition is still alive. |

Concord Police Commander is on the killmail so he probably docked/logged with GCC and didn't wait long enough before undocking.
Concord wouldn't be involved otherwise - they don't care if you fire at stations, only firing on other players triggers them. Edit - obviously firing at Concord triggers them but it looks like the station guns fired first, so looks like he undocked with GCC.
You could try asking the guy? |

I don't think you can dock (or jump or survive a disconnect) with GCC. But yeah, if nobody else was around, why is Concord there? |

You can dock/jump after 1 minute, but if Concord doesn't pop you in high-sec its classed as an exploit.
I guess he aggressed someone, got popped by Concord then docked up to reship. Then he relogged/undocked and got popped again because he didn't wait long enough. |

That would be my guess...you have no idea how many times this happens...people get excited, prime their weapons and accidentally lock the station or gate...which by the way has a massive sig radius so it locks very quickly :) |
