Evening All,
I'm looking for advice and not sure if this is the right section.. So in case not I'm Sorry....
OK So I'm looking for a basic cheap laptop to play eve on when I'm away with work, not looking for supper powerful just cheap and acceptable.
So some people have said that I need a dedicated graphic card to play eve.. Is this the case ?
Or Would something like this play eve ok..
Processor - Intel-« CoreGäó i3-5010U with Intel HD Graphics 5500 (2.1 GHz, 3 MB cache, 2 cores)
Memory - 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3L SDRAM (1 x 8 GB)
Display - 39.6 cm (15.6") diagonal HD BrightView WLED-backlit (1366 x 768)
Graphics - Intel HD Graphics 5500
Internal drive - 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA
Or even (Doubt it)
Intel-« Celeron-« N2830 processor with Intel-« Burst Technology 2.0
Hard disk 500 GB
4,096 (1x) MB, DDR3L RAM (1,333 MHz)
Intel-« HD Graphics
Please help my next trip is Monday!!!

Ok here's what I've got right now -
Dell XPS 12 Ultrabook (2013)
CPU: Intel Core i5-3337U @ 1.8GHz (Ivy Bridge)
GPU: Intel HD 4000 - 1920x1080
RAM: 8GB
HDD: LiteOn LMT-256M3M mSATA 256GB
OS: Windows 8.1 Pro
On this I'm able to run 3 clients simultaneously, however I have to keep the graphics settings low/off or I get some nasty frame rate reductions. I've also found that if I'm running DX11 my GPU is crashed by the character editor, so I also have to run the clients in DX9 to not have any issues. On a newer Haswell i3 processor I wouldn't see why you'd have issue running at least one client in DX11. The big thing to note here is that the graphics settings in EVE can be extremely demanding on GPUs, so if you're noticing framerate drops/hardware lag, turn down the settings a notch. Now, given that you're also looking at an i3 versus my i5, I would suggest that you only run a single client at a time. i3s are light use processors, and a single copy of EVE is probably going to be at the upper limit of what an i3 can handle.

If I'm exporting something from iMovie on my desktop, I run it just fine on a min specs 4 year old MacBook Air with setting at low. So you'll be fine with pretty much anything. |
