So I was browsing through the models for the faction ships, and i came across the Sanshas BS, the nightmare.
Man the model for that ship is awesome... best in game IMO. i may have to get one just for its looks.
But how does it measure up in terms of combat viability? I hav not yet seen a thread about the Nightmare here. Anyone flown one?

I am a character with only 3 m sp or so - i managed to get my hands for one for very little isk. I don't plan flying it until i have the perfect skills for it.
However, this didn't stop it from completly wasting my 35m sp friends HAC in a test match. I hope this gives you some idea into it's combat viability.

Uh... a 3m SP BS pilot in a split-weapon, split-race faction Battleship beat a 35m SP HAC pilot? He must've sucked... yet more proof that SP isn't everything?  (Either that or you had 4 Nos/4 Launchers, which would kill most HACs without too much trouble...)

Flying a Nightmare for lvl 4 missions atm, originally an amarr pilot and still working on my missile skills a bit (all at lvl 3 atm). Tried it out first for lvl 3 missions and that was kindda pointless (lasers killed stuff before the missiles arrived  ) But for lvl 4s I'm quite pleased with it using 4 megapulse + 4 torpedos, especially considering I still have quite a bit of room to improve skillwise. Being able to change damage type ftw.

when i first saw nightmare i wanted it, the phantasm is awesoem and looks cool.
When i first got 850mill and bought a BPC then spent 60mill building it up i was very disappointed when i first flew it.
FIRST flew it that is, spend a lil time, effort and cash on it and its F**kin awesome.
I'm a very heavy missile user so i favor Cruise missiles on it but i use it on Lv4 missions in Boranai/Ashab all the time and it flies thorugh most of them very quickly and easily.

i modify it slightyl dependign on missions but u need the faction hardeners due to the virgin tight CPU on the mare.
spend a few hundred mill on it and u have a very good all round ship. especially with light/med drones

half nos and half lasers with a few plates, dual rep and a slave set its pretty evil, i beat alot of ships including a navy raven in mine, but the pilot coulda been a nub.
