One line of code, and a whole heap of frustration removed for those of us running multiple clients at once.
The character title now appears in the window's title bar and in the system tray. SetWindowText how I love thee so.

He's half right.
There was a setting in the system menu to put the name there, but it was removed and now it's displayed for everybody

Well you most likely did not have the settings checked before in the settings menu so it's new for you!

I have always used distinctive color schemes to quickly distinguish which character is in a given window. This one is blue, other alts are red, green, orange, cyno alts are pink, etc. |

Doesn't really help when you can't see the window. Much easier just to look at your taskbar and click. |

This is exactly what we thought as well, also makes the system menu less cluttered so you're more likely to notice settings that you might want to change

The option was there pre-crucible, post crucible the checkbox was cleared for window indentifiction everytime the client was restarted.
So how did you fix this?? altering a simple bit of code? hell noes,.. your removed the option altogther.
why did you omit this fact?

I think you misunderstand because you are under the assumption that CCP went and deliberately broke an option, only to go and have to fix it later.

The lie was purposeful sure, but in no way did i say or indicate that i beleaved that the option was broken intentionally.

Becuase you said "the fact they broke it". You have now changed your stance to saying "they broke it on purpose" which indicates you admit it was a bug an not planned for.

tyvm,. thats what i would have orginally liked to hear, its a perfect responce,. it was just the omittance of
'''when fixing it (because it was broken)'' or ''because we broke it with last patch'' part that rubbed me the wrong way, personally i think removing the option is a good idea,. theres no reason for having it.
But let not say it was removed because it made sence to do so,. it did,. and should have been,. but was'nt untill it was broken it was,. no other reason than that. |
