Allow me to critize you guys a little...
Common, ONE stinkin power supply crashes the World of EVE ?!?
Have you guys ever heard of dual power supply's?
Most high end servers have them!
I've even seen servers with THREE hot-swappable power supply's!
Any CCP staff wanna comment on this?

I think they are busy fixing things.
Assumption:
If the server has lost power, it's likely, that some manual recovery is needed, service installation, database cleanup, maybe file system checks. Whatever.
And even dual or triple RPS crash from time to time , -- Kasha > Mastema, face the reality: All the juicy dots are gone. -- |

Don't think CCP is at fault here, I'd look into the server hoaster in London.

CCP does not have a fault tolerant system regardless.
I dunno about the rest fo the world but where I am from if systems continue to go down and th customers who pay us to give them service dont get there service, people losse jobs, money is lost and ugly things happen.

hehe you lot make me laugh..
Did u not see the spec on the kit when they upgraded the servers? Of course they have dual power supplys ..thyer hot swappable as well..
no its more likely its a localised power failure ie: supply to building

Or they could have had UPS (Uninteruptible Power Supply) which is basically a big battery that will take over for a few hours until ya up and running again. But then as someone who works on electrical equipment I know that how ever well u plan your backups u will still get caught out now and then...Its not a perfect world

They had to switch to Gerbils since there's a shortage of Hamsters

Well if you consider that one failing powerplant can take down the whole powergrid of the west of the usa... or that one problem in Switserland can brnig the whole of italy without power.

It's kind of sad when someone gets all ****ed cause they can't play their game for a bit. Get a life, it'll be ok.
