I've tried out EVE. I'm not sure I am going to be continuing to play as, while the game is awesome, it's just not my type of game.
However, for a bit of feedback, one thing I was missing was real manual control of your spaceship, where you could sit in the*****pit and actually fly your ship using some control keys (would it be complicated? probably :p ).
Now, being new, I can't possibly know everything, but with that addition, it would then be possible to have...
...Asteroid Dodging!
Okay, asteroids don't deal damage as is, and there's a good reason for that :p However, imagine specific locations in secure areas that allow for people to fly between moving objects manually and possibly even competetions :D Obviously, it'd have to be challenging, but I think it's an idea worth considering.
Keep up the good work with a good game :)

You can sort of have manual flight, just double-click in the direction you want your ship to fly. Default is full speed, but if you manualy click in the throttle bar (middle-bottom HUD) it will stay at the new speed maximum until you've come to a full stop and/or altered the throttle setting.
Apparently in the dim past they used to have it were missles did 'bump' the 'roids, and thus people would use them to slow incoming missles by keeping to opposite sides of asteroid fields when fighting missle users. Now asteroid fields are just EVE's version of a bumper car ride for ships. |

Edited by: Lidium on 20/11/2006 20:11:23 Still not really manual flight though. This game reminded me a lot of homeworld. Now, there you not only had a more efficient "double-clicking" to move to a specific point in space system, but you also didn't (repeat: did Not) have manual control :p And that was a shame, for when you got bored.
By manual control, it really needs to be manual. No mouse clicking involved that then takes your ship to a selected destination.

For it to truly be manual control, you'd need to have full control yoke/throttle/weapons panel compatibility. CCP would likely have to develop something a la the Steel Battalion controller. It'd be mad expensive.
But worth it.

Or like Freelancers controls.
It was more or less, click and drag, and the nose of the ship would follow. ------------------- My opinions (ie, all of my posting here) are not my corporations. Nor should it be taken as such.
