From our chats with various CA corp members it has become apparent that many of them simply do not know why OC (or SA as a whole) is at war with them. I will speak from the OC point of view as it is all we can truthfully speak of with certainty.
From early on, long before CA was formed, some OC members including myself would occasionally hunt in Curse. Sinister attacked us a few times and we returned the favor. No big deal as they were known pirates and we responded appropriately to their occasional attacks.
Not long after the conclusion of the RUS war, OC shipping came under fire more and more frequently in Catch. These attacks were by members of Sinc, RC and a few other minor pirate corps. The current version of the CA had formed and the attacks continued sporadically.
We had word from other SA corps that they too were coming under the pirate attacks in Catch. The CA as a whole were protecting and supporting them. In our opinion there was no other choice but to go to war and that brings us to the current situation.
Many of the CA members think we are or portray us as "invaders" which is inaccurate and smacks of CA propaganda. We are simply pressing the war to the homeland of those that attacked us many times. We fully understand that many of the CA corps are not pirates however they support and protect the corps that had provoked this war in the first place. When you harbor a criminal do not cry foul when your door is kicked in by those seeking justice.
So, I ask you... what would you do in the same situation? Sit by and do nothing? Complain to the CA corp leaders who to this day deny that the piracy was taking place? Or would you actively defend yourself, your fellow corp mates and alliance by going to war.

I was one of the first members i believe to be attacked by a pirate corporation supported by the Curse Alliance (Shinra). They attacked whilst the war with Rus were still on and many pirate factions whole-heartedly supported rus in the fight against the Stain Alliance, i feel that these corporations found out they had bitten off more than they could chew and retreated to Curse to try to make some sort of protection deal. When the Stain Alliance came knocking at the door of Curse to get a hold of our enemies in the war, we found a fully willing Curse there to shield them. For your information SA started aggressions toward us even before we had all moved to curse. We never had any chance to prove our motives. You guys were waiting at our doorstep the moment we arrived. Don't come here try to twist what happened. OC might very well have been staying out of it but numerous others of your alliance friends did no such thing. So perhaps you should go to your alliance leaders and have a talk eh? And once again attacking members of an alliance that declared war on us is NOT piracy. I have no problems with you fighting us really but all those lame reasons you post time and time again are making me sick. Admit the truth that you just wanted a fight and conveniently enough some former pirates moved in next door. ------------------ NoctoZ Black Reign Curse Alliance |

Seeing as how we got the inside info on plans of the CA from its creation I can safely say that the assault and destruction of the Stain alliance were one of its principles since day 1.
The topic itself though has been argued through countless times in the older threads (pages 14-20) of the corporation boards..

Why is it that [OC] now feels the need to justify its piracy? What is the point of this thread?

We were under attack by corporations that are now in CA before the CA was even officially formed. Within the first days Sinister came down here I was podded in my indy by the CEO at the time. War hadn't even broken out yet, OC had initiated no hostile intentions toward Sinister even. I was just at the wrong gate at the wrong time. So yes, it was piracy. These unprovoked attacks against us is what started this. We even hung back just to see what Sinister was going to do down here, it was quite obvious right away.

Well, we sure as hell engaged you earlier since you allied with RUS, and thereby was in war with us.
But after RUS "fully retreated" and you moved back to Curse and the "new" CA was formed, none from MASS attacked you before you attacked us. And if you had intentions of creating a peaceful alliance in Curse you should have made contact with us prior to this. And the new CA should have continued with the talks that were taking place regarding Red Corsairs, instead of declaring that the new CA would fight SA on behalf of Red Corsairs.

Once again let me point out that we did not start attacking stain. Stain attacked us from day one. There was no waiting to see if we were peaceful. It was all "they were pirates before so we can not trust them, lets attack before they can regroup". You use a suggestion prior to the decition to even move here as your only argument for an upcoming attack on SA. As said before I have no problems with having a war with you. Just drop those attempts to justify it by "you attacked first" because we both know the truth is another. Sure some SA corps might have stayed off but you can't seriously expect us to just sit idly by when your alliance friends come busting into our territory attacking us. And unless you refer to a time long ago Sinister were not in curse until CA was formed. ------------------ NoctoZ Black Reign Curse Alliance |

Well, all MASS members followed orders to stay out of curse while we were negotiating with the "old CA" about Red Corsairs. CA then responded that RC would not surrender and all of CA would fight on RC's behalf, and at the same time they expanded with several new corps, including Sinister, and on the very first night after this 20+ CA ships went to camp DSS-EZ which is the first system in Stain.
That have been posted several times before and CA has never denied that.
It's very simple. The reason CA suddenly decided to fight on RC's behalf was that they had negotiated with you and some other corps to form a new CA, and they declared their hostile intentions against us immediately.

The first paragraph explains the reason for the post. Too many CA corps ask why we are at war. This post is directed at those who are not clear on the matter.

Hey, I hope to soon put forward a way where all of this forum smack and lack of clear cut battles stuff will be put to rest.
Give me a couple of days to work out a couple of details, but soon enough the reasons for all the hate won't matter.
Oh, and Duke, if you and the other guys at OC claim to 'own' us so easily, why not move on to tougher opponents? Apparently we provide no amusement or challenge. I can hardly accept your reasons for a continued engagement if you are so bored. --------------------------------------------------

Seems to me that if you chose to join up with sinister, then you chose to accept the mantle of being a pirate. Whether you wanted to be peaceful is irrelevant at this point.

mah! according to me there are too many thread equal, too many identical answers, too many absurd accusations, too much youth in the blood of many.
I return to make the dad, my daughter of 4 months I am waiting for to me, in drawing-room, and no want to attend it.
Someone according to my point of view has little RL too much... and perhaps it takes the things too much seriously-and-hatred for being a game.

Well said. People do need to take a step backwards and realise again that it's just a game. So we're blowing each other's ships up. Who really cares? It's a game. Certainly doesn't warrant the daily threads of (sometimes personal, out of game) abuse, threats, and accusations of backstabbing, spying, hacking, flooding and e-war. Is this how rational human beings should behave over a game?
No.
Pack it in, lads.
OC, if you're having fun coming to fight us, then come fight us. That's all the reason you, or anyone else needs.
This is supposed to be fun...

Of course. We can still hate each other in character, but the RL insults and threats are silly.

I don't see the reason to justify their right to be at war with the CA. Surely the CA's very existance is reason enough ?
