I have decided to start a (hopefully) nightly poker group. Playing poker for ISK.
We will start with only one table, 25m to play with winnings going to the top 2 places. There are eight slots, and if you want to play, please show up in the in-game channel "staypro" before 21:00 Eve-time tonight if you wish to play.
I have asked the GM's and they say it's legal (there are several Eve gambling sites running).

how would this work exactly, like the rules of the poker game how we would get our cards and such, i assume its text based.

If they eventually introduce in station walkarounds the possibilities for ISK based poker bars are bound to be there. That would be pretty **** cool.

and how would this work? I mean... what would you/we play with?
Maybe this sentence will show how much of a noob I really am, but... Is there an actual set of cards in EVE, or did you have something else in mind?

Sorry i missed it last night, there is a way to text base this, im sure someone could program a bot that deals and all that jazz. But if they ever come out with walk around lobbys for stations(kind of like but hopefully better than Earth and Beyond), which would be a touch addition since their is no instance so far of any firstperson or thirdperson walking around. They would have to make an addition to the engine im almost certain, or maybe not, I don't know that much im sure theres a workaround.
But in conclusion, when they have walk around lobbies in stations (optimism usually works). Poker tables and many other games and gambling could become extrememly possible. Hell they could just copy off like full tilt poker or partypokers game interface, and put that ingame except you have your own avatar as the head instead of the fake people they have in those games. But as usual with these type of things, the possibilites go far beyond just poker tables.

I like the idea too... "ll be a nice of DEV to insert in the game Poker with card's ;-)
