I tried posting this before, but I don't think it went through. Apologies if I have double posted!!
Anyway, this is somewhat of a dumb question, but I would appreciate it if anyone could help me on it...
My broadband has a 6GB download limit per month, and I was just wondering if anyone could tell me, roughly, how much of that limit Eve will gobble up?
Or should I just wait until I can get a bigger download limit before I get hooked on the game?

I think this game operates at slightly above modem speeds, so 60-100 kbps, figure that.

I just put these few details in the ZeN monthly usage calculator
15 hours surfing a week 100 emails recieved a week 70 hours online gaming a week It came up with this...Based on the information submitted, you will require approximately 5.1GB of download bandwidth per month.

Of course Kali might cause a peak in your bandwidth usage as you'll download significantly more data when it comes out. |

Thanks for your replies
I expected that the worst part of it may have been the initial downloads (quite hefty for an online game!), and that the actual gameplay wouldn't take too much.
I shall stop worrying now and get on with enjoying the game.

Actually Eve is quite small for an online game. Take 'America's Army' for example. It's sitting at 2.5GB for a full install.

EVE-O uses only a few kilobytes per second, absolute most, except on loading from warpins.
Its far less than even normal internet browsing.

I guess I figured it was a large download amount because I've never downloaded a game from the net before.
It's good to know I won't be going over the limit! I'm already quite addicted to it, and really would hate to have to give it up now
