I've read through most of the discussion thread, but I see lots of speculation and not very many dev responses. So can someone please sum up what we actually know about invention so far?
What components are needed for invention? Will components be seeded on market or are they only available via research agents. Can any components be gotten via missions, COSMOS or regular? If yes to the last question, what kind of missions? Are POS getting any bonuses to invention? Will there be invention slots in mobile labs for POS, or a new POS module? Is EVERYTHING tech I with a tech II counterpart going to be inventable? If not, what's not inventable and have we received a reasoning as to why?
Sorry, I've got some answers on these from the main post, but really, I've seen so many contradictory posts it's hard to keep up.

Datacores slavaged materials T1 bpc invention skill encryption skill
Will components be seeded on market or are they only available via research agents?
Datacores are bought from R&d agents with research points
Can any components be gotten via missions, COSMOS or regular?
the salavaged materials can be collected from any destroyed npc ship and the encryption skill come from COSMOS missions but 300mil is on market must mean they are rare.
If yes to the last question, what kind of missions?

no

At the moment it looks like Exhumers, ammo and drones are not added to invention and i don't know the reason for this.

I hope they at least add drones. They are one of the T2 items that has a stupid markup and should be trivial to invent.

I think one of the reason you might not get drones and ammo is the time it takes to make a T2 version versus the max runs of a T1 Bpc. If i am correct you can only make around 25 T2 heavy drones a week therefore a T1 BPC with max runs might produce a BPC which would last a very long time resulting in over competition and ruining any value the T2 BPO's have.

Some more info: 1) Salvaging has nothing todo with inventions, it's used for rigs 2) Datacores and all relevant items needed for inventions will be from 0.0 cosmos or new hidden complexes from 1.0 to 0.0 where the probability is lowest in 1.0 to obtain such items ( not sure on high sec too ), like the cosmos items on tranqu which need certain ancient parts to be built, you will get datacores, invention skills, encryption skills, interfaces via hacking and archeology from cans in cosmos complexes 3) Datacores can be exchanged from R&D agents for RP points

Thanks for the info. I've read the dev blog, but it's pretty vague and doesn't really give all of the information. Plus, it was a few months ago, and not on Sisi yet. I figure it's probably being tweaked some here and there, and I was hoping to get an update as to what exactly one has to do to invent something.
So it's looking like you'll be able to get a lot of this stuff via "cosmos"-like missions from dynamically spawning complexes?
Is there any reason given as to why you won't be able invent exhumers or tech II drones?
Any updates about POS and Invention?
Thanks, I don't really have the time at the moment to get on Sisi myself and test things, so I have to rely on what's posted in here.
