I've just started doing lvl3 missions, and need some help with my Typhoon setup.
currently something like this
4 x Heavys 3 x 1400mm Arty 1 tractor beam web AB Large Shield Extender Invo Hardener 2 x Gyro's 2 Med AR 4 x PDU
i know its got a bit of both Shield and ammor tank, Its i just that i like to feel safe and don't want to loose my 75mil BS, that i've work so hard too get lol
Any help would be great

Here is what I came up with for level III ease in the typhoon:
Hi: 4x cruise launchers 3x 220mm ACs tractor beam
Mid: AB webber target painter large cap booster (800s)
Low:
Large repper 1600 mm plate 3x mission / rat specific active hardeners energized adaptive nano damage control unit
Level IIIs can now be done watching TV, cooking and drinking copious amounts of alcohol all at the same time. But it is meant to be armor tanked. Ditch the shield stuff, IMO ;) ---------------------------------------------------------------------

i would do lvl 3s in a Cyclone but my PvE Typhoon is as follows
x4 named cruise x2 named 1200mm x2 named heavy NOS
x2 cap recharger x1 T2 target painter x1 named tracking computer
x1 RCU x3 named hardners (for whatever you are fighting) x1 1600mm named plate x 1 named armour repper x1 damage control
x5 heavy x5 med drones
Works for most things. If you NOS on to cruiser's or bigger the armour repper will run almost forever.

if your doing lvl3 missions you may as well replace the plate for a nano hull upgrade or a damage mod to make it go faster. You dont need all that tank ---------------------- I fly Amarr and Gallente ships Amarr because they peow peow - and look cool... Gallente because they are effective |

Also remember to use your drones, they make a big difference DPS-wise. An omnidirectional tracking link or two will make heavy drones very effective against almost any target, but mediums perform quite nicely too.

an advice...
if you are "starting" build first your tank and then fit weapons...
for missions is important to know what type of damage will do your opponents and then mount appropriate hardeners
generally a tank composed by 1 lar + 3-4 specific hardeners is enought for most level 4 missions, for lv3 you should have not troubles but when you will start level 4 maybe fit even 5 if not 6 hards if you can't fit tech2 or don't know missions
later when you will become more used to missions and know your tankage capability you can start to remove hards..
for cap i prefer cap rechargers to cap boosters... 3+ depending by your energy skills
for weapons... train for cruise missiles asap and grab some decent drone skills too... actually with the phoon (expecially in pve) you will not need a lot of gun skills as turrets are the less effective weapon system on the ship and generally the less effective system for missions..

At least someone tries to match the fitting to the purpose. CMs and 1200mm/1400mms are fun, but keep in mind you won't be fighting battleships in level 3 missions.
Personally, I don't web much (use 5 small drones for the interceptors, once all those are down swap them out for meds or larges) so I'd replace the Webifier with an Afterburner. To maybe add a bit more tank till you're comfortable, a Damage Control can really save your day doubling your hull HP.
Depending on skills, one of either the missile launchers or projectile guns could be replaced with a Heavy NOS to keep everything running, or even use a Cap Power Relay.
I don't think you'll need a second armor repper for level 3s. --

completed all 3 parts of illegal activity just fine

Typhoon is serious overkill for lvl 3s.
I'd swap to a cyclone, 5x720s, 3x heavies/assaults. Large Shield booster, 4xHardeners. 4xPDU2
Works a charm. Rarely have to even run the booster. Don't forget drones, and always keep range. Easy as pie.
For a phoon though if you really want to keep using it, Evangeline pretty much has it spot on.

As someone said, first build your tank, then fit the weapons. for lvl3 missions i'd think 1x large armor rep and 3x specific hardeners should be a walk in the park for all skill levels.
so LOW: 1x large armor repairer, 3x hardeners, you have 3x slots you can play with
High: I'd personally go with dual 425mm Autocannons but 720mm Arties are okay but you do get a slight bonus on battleship sized weapons, 4x either cruise missile launchers or Heavy launchers, you have 8x high slots i'd personally go for 4/4, the loot on the missions is so insignificant i think you're wasting a high slot putting a tractor beam in.
Med: AB, web, cap rechargers.
Fit as much cap stuff as you need to hold your tank indefinitely and rest should be damage

Fit for speed, u want to do em fast to make the isk/hour ratio better.
1'st advice, is to use a muninn, it does em stupidly fast, but takes more skill to lose the risk of popping..
2'nd the phoon shield tank this baby for lvl3's large or xl if u want , 3 rat hardeners, a mix of pdu and nanos in low to make the ship more agile and speedy.
alternatively armor tank it, high: 4 720mm II, 4 assault/heavy ML mid: 100mn AB, 3 cap recharger's II low: 1 LAR II, 3 hardners, 3 damage mods
drones: if u got good drone skills use meds and heavys, mids takes care of the rats, use heavys to take down structures.

I use this setup:
4x Siege 3x NOS 1x Tractor (or 4x NOS if you have the skills and don't need the cap) 1x AB 1x XLSBII 2x Invul 1x DCU 3x BCU 1x CPU 2x Nanofiber
Works pretty well for me. Move to tech2 where applicable.

phoon is a great ship for lvl 3`s and it will do them at a great speed,
hi 4x dual 425`s, 4x cruise
med 1x 100mn ab, 1x web, 1x painter, 1x cap recharger
lo 1x LAR, 3x hardners, 1x gyro, 1x bcu, 1x cap relay
that setup should do you dandy for all lvl3`s, just swap our hardners for each mission depending on your foe`s -------------------------------------------

If I weren't going to fly a Cyclone or some other battlecruiser for level 3 missions, and fitted a Typhoon for it instead:
4x cruise missile launcher 4x dual 425
2x target painter 2x web
2x cpr 4x hardeners 1x LAR
15x light drones 10x mediun drones
anything in web range in a level 3 dies to d425's fast enough. anything outside web range dies to double painted cruise just as fast. large drones won't track anything smaller than a battlecruiser well enough to kill faster than mediums, especially at low drone skills. Carry extra waves of smaller drones instead. If you mess up and get your drones killed, you don't need to stop and return to a starport. J.A.F.O.
