Sorry to bore people....but is there a way of finding out my total kills in eve from start to now. ?
Zkill seems way off as does most of the kill boards on eve related killboards.
this might be more of a ccp request...or at the very least a dev might be able to point me to an all time kill board.

yes but i have moved 3 times since starting eve in 2004 so the ip has changed, hence wondering if there is a complete charechter totoal somewhere ?
this ip shows 700 odd but i know i have many more in my eve life and would like to know the total :)

IP shouldn't matter, go here and make sure your API is not expired. If it is you may need to make a new one and re-link it.

I prefer zkill, but it should work the same with them all.

just updated...still only showing 700 odd....no way thats right as i am 2004 toon and pvp 95% of it...... so i guess i'll have to blag my way into the new corp lol.
if a dev happens to read this thread...pls private convo me ( in game or e-mail ) and help me out :)

FWIW, I don't think it will update immediately. Give it a few hours, the KB's program needs to requery the DB once it realizes you have an updated API.

yup, it isnt an instant thing,sometimes it is ,sometimes its like 12 hours or so

the kill boards have been losing kills for years.
some days mine is showing 2 to 3k, next day its 700, or 50.
today, eve kill shows 2442, zkill shows 2100, battleclinic cannot even find me...
its more pot luck I guess |

I have 2003 toons that dont have the old killmails either. Its just something you live with. Early on all the killmails were sent to the characters evemail system and we just deleted them, well I did anyway, as they were too much spam and I liked a clean mail browser and Ive yearned to have them back for posterity now. I doubt itll happen as I wonder if CCP even has kept those records.
Even this characters records in game in the loss or kill records arent complete so I doubt CCP has them or will make them available. But Ill sign the request for better records for us old farts!

I saved all my kill mails, but it seems there is a 500 mail limit, and corp mails, personal mails, agent mails, concord mails, and whatnot all count, so my kill mails are mostly gone. (I do think I deleted my skill mails at some point, but they very well could have gone down to the inbox limit)
as for the Devs I don't think they have been tracking those stats, well at least not long enough to have accurate information. I assume they have decent kill info overall, but I would assume to separate out anyone's individual records would be difficult. I don't know if they can see before 2008ish reliably. I know I'm missing most of my kills on zkill and eve-kill. but hey, at this point those kills are so old they say nothing about my current abilities.

blag your way into a corp? what corp takes into consideration the amount of kills you have? 700 seems good

yea there are corps out there that want kill info + loss info.....not that it really matters as any corp would be happy with a perfect gunnery toon ( 39m odd in gunnery sp ) by there side :)
thanks for all the replys, and as mentioned, i guess us old farts will just have to look less awsome on the kill boards :)

Zkill recently underwent some back-end changes. Among them I believe all pre-2009 manually posted cap kills were nerfed along with some other stuff. I believe as a result all characters kill totals needed to be recalculated and this process is still ongoing.
I noticed Erica, for instance, was suddenly missing something like 200 kills and a couple dozen losses on zkill. zkill (imo) has traditionally been one of the more reliable kb's, so I shot off a support ticket to them asking what's up. I got a quick reply explaining that most 2010-2011 kills are still being processed and that it will take a very long time.
Eve-kill still seems to show correct stats for characters though, but it's really pot-luck whether or not you're checking it during one of it's regular "update" cycles (during which it often shows dramatically different totals).
