Hi guys,
I want to start recording my PvP and am looking for the best program to do this with. Should I be downloading Fraps or can anyone suggest a better/more free :p program to use instead?
Thanks in advance for all help given.

Short answer yes,
Long answer:
Post in the correct forum.
Fraps has the smallest footprint and uses the least CPU. You want to use version 2.8 -=====-

Fraps is the best tool I've used, though it has some quirks. Whichever frame rate you choose to record at is the one you'll be playing at, which renders anything sub-30 basically unusable. When you're time compressing 2x to speed up the action anyway that means you're wasting 50% of the videos you record, and they do take up a lot of space.
Still, it does the job and I've never had it crash during recording. The latest version lifted resolution restrictions for multi-core processors, which is nice if you like playing at 1280x1024 or more exotic resolutions.

FRAPS is awesome. Buy it now. It's very cheap.
I use it for all my movies.

if your vid card has tv in/out you could hook up your vid card to a VCR and record your eve action to a video tape then put it back on your comp after without any fps loss of hdd thrashing while you play.
if you have a digital camera that lets you take movies you could use that to.
if not fraps is probably best, i know ms has some free software out called "windows media encoder"(not the same thing that comes with windows xp) that lets you capture videos to but ive never tested it to see if the performance is better than fraps.

The only thing better than FRAPS is to video out to a video input machine to record it separately, thus avoiding extra performance yet.
