I am an Hauler, have been for every corp I have been a member of. I run around in my indy day after day hauling ore from belts to station or cheap stuff from station to station. While hauling the one day, I had an idea while watching the news: What if indys could be car bombs?
Pack a hold full of high-end, uber-expensive explosives and detonate them near enemy ships, stations, etc. The effect would be identical to a smart bomb but with increased range and drastically increased damage based on the amount of explosives placed in the hold. This could also be used for industrial sabatoge when PC stations are available; able to detonate one inside an enemy corp's station. Of course the pilot would be instantly killed, no pod.
Just an idea. Flame away. Quote: null

I like it! I would glady blow my indy after luring Pkers into range. (Though I assume most of them will just kill you at long range instead.) :P

lol would surely stop alot of the jumpin camping. 4 pirates sitting in a jump in spot... the indy jumps in, while still loading the pirates open fire and trigger the explosives in the hold. The equivilent of 1000 torpedoes going off, everyone dies =)

What's the defence against someone trying to dock one of these in my station and detonate it?
Cos if there's no way of preventing it, I sure as hell ain't gonna waste my time trying to build a station. We have enough trouble with griefers already when they can't do any worse than knock out your battleship and implants.

That's the reason for sentry guns and minefields around your station.

If sentry guns are set to shoot any indy that happens by in case it's a bomb, and minefields are set so that nobody can get to the thing anyway ... what's the point building the station?

player owned stations cant be destoryed, they will be able to be taken over, but not destroyed. Can you imagine the whines if a corp lost their stattion to a lone indy

I'd rather see most of the cargohold being converted into a drone bay and being able to launch a massive surprise attack of drones from it.

sentry guns to shoot any non-sanctioned ship, and a big billboard with KEEP OUT! plastered over it. Couple that with a front porch and a BFG for my station
