I thought about it for a little bit and wondered...How evil would it be of me to put the names of people out there who log out to save their hauler/other ship from destruction because they failed to take the precautions? Or even if they did take em they met someone who was simply more prepared then them? Then I remembered...wait a second...I was trying to pirate him! What do I care how evil it is? So without further adu...
Name: Reau Corp: Magnetar Ltd [MNET] Alliance: Destiny. Location: Somewhere in 0.0
Now is it possible he just crashed? Well I guess it could be but...seeing as how he jumped into the system and attempted to make a jump to another gate, got scrambled...THEN disappeared...I kinda doubt thats very likely.
Oh...flame on if you must...

Would be easier to save space and just name one entity to blame for this.
CCP
At least some of them think the act is despiseable, yet haven't used their capabilities to put stop on it..
Alt most might call some alliances/corps for their hypocrisy, if they accuse their enemies of logging off, yet do not kick their members who do the same.
Naming and shaming 'neutral' parties seems a bit waste since, logging off is a valid CCP sanctioned tactic.

It's funny because a pirate is naming and shaming some guy in a hauler that logged.
Why would he even care what you think about him ? What are you going to do, blow him up and take his stuff ? Oh wait... Last time i've checked most pirates make a point of showing how they get thier giggles from people getting worked up over their loss.
Also pirates in general use every single legal-but-dubious game mechanic there is. Sentry range limits, faults in criminal and war flagging when it comes to gangs, cans, etc.. you name it. And when someone complains they're always told it's their own fault for being careless.
Well the people loging out aren't careless, good on them right ? I agree it's different with legitimate war targets and combat ships though.

Xyn Rhais logging is cheating regardless of what CCP say we all know it! and well there hauler is only going to get blown up because of their stuiped self !! learn to scout etc !! instead they mess up and go OMG log !!
PVP is a part of eve, Live with it and accept otherwise the market would be pointless due to nothing ever getting destoryed.
If anyone in my corp is reported for logging to avoid getting killed they are kicked from the corp and punished if proven to be guilty !!
Some people do how ever lose connection and this has happened to me, a simple way to tell but not 100% full prof is they will re log in there and then not 20 mins later when the coast is clear.
CCP have added a few things to compensate this e.g ship stays in space etc, and i think that its fair you can't really blame them as they can't detect the client disconnection unless they put some code in that tells them the person did close the client manually and it wasn't a time out.

Using game mechanics to flag people in high-sec (gang invites with war-deced parties, can swaping, etc..) is cheating. So is sniping from out of range of gates. So is suicide ganking and having someone else steal from the can.
Everyone who's not a pirate knows that to be true. CCP dosen't do anything about it so we have to deal with it.
I don't advocate logging off whenever you have combat. But in the above cases ? Sure. Logging off is the perfect answer against griefing.

BRAVO Xyn,
the people who yell the loudest are the ones using methods that most ppl consider illegal to grief others. Pls explain to me how empire gate pirates using the jump QUE in Jita to suicide gank / alt grab is legal? Since they can't be killed and do it in throw away ships . GREIFERS kiss my white hairy #$#.

"Using game mechanics" and thus you just negated your argument.

Actually the warp-in warp-out when you log in and out in space is a game mechanic too, so no it didn't invalidate anything, oh master of nit-picking.
This whole thread is about game-mechanics that are widely seen as unfair but are quite legal according to CCP.

so much is made out about logging off :s
1. first its difficult to tell sometimes whether someones logged or crashed. clearly if its a mass loggofski its obvious.
2. if the opponent logs off you win its a moral victory.
3. who cares while theres nothing you can do about it.

Dude you don't have a clue !! logging is closing down the game to escape its not part of the mechanics as your closing it, its cheating plain and simple .
Using gang's in high sec is not cheating to trap people !! why because you have to accept the invite and if you do then well again its your Dumb fault and your deserver to down PWNED.
Personally if your log in space your ship should stay there until you return, for the amount of times people really get disconnected its acceptable loss.
