Could I recommend the following rigs, for us miners, please!
Mining Duration Rig, decreases the duration of mining lasers Mining Power Rig, increases the range of mining lasers Mining Electrical Rig, decreases the CPU requirements of mining lasers Mining Yeild Rig, increases the yeild amount of mining lasers
ya know, for us carebears out there :)

CPU for most of them, I would say reduced range for the Electrical rig though.

would remove the CPU reducing rig, but I'm all for it.
Also would have to consider giving barges a bit more CPU, as they are a very tigt fit as of now.

Having CPU as the drawback works, but it feels a bit too 'typical', in that the mining upgrade modules work in a similar fashion (improved mining for a CPU penalty). And as CPU is a problem on some mining vessels, it becomes more of a CPU/mining juggling act when fitting, whereas rigs on combat vessels gain something in one area in return for a penalty in another.
Of course, the problem is that mining vessels only really care about one thing: yield. They're currently slow, made of paper (well, most are), cargo capacity isn't an issue, speed and agility don't figure much either. So yeah, some kind of CPU penalty seems the most obvious (and probably easiest) to implement.

Another possible penalty is a random chance for the laser to overheat and shut down. Or maybe a 5% increase in yield, but consumes the asteroid 15% faster, thus wasting 10% of it.

Edit: Or reduction in drone damage maybe.

Possible drawbacks:
CPU of Miners Agility of ship Cargo Capacity Cap usage of Miners Warp Strength (as in, -1 warp strength from the get go, would require 2 stabs to get 1 point of strength) Targetting Range etc.
Sounds like a good idea, and teres certainly no shortage of miner-hurting drawbacks they could have.

To be blunt, CPU penalty for any barge mod is a realy stupid thing to do. They are already so tight on power and cpu they can't make much use of the modules alreday in the game. The 2 mining boosting modules, use low slots and both power and cpu boosters ONLY fit low slots. So you can only use 1 mining boost module. The new mod type they came out with only adds 1 for mininers which is a mod to boost drone mining rate. And guess what, you take a cpu hit. It's a waste to use it. The 5% that a low slot gives to 3 striper 2's far outways what a 10% would do for 5 miner drone 2's. And since you have to use one of the low slots for a power boost to add much of anything, the other low slot is going to get a mining boost, not a cpu boost.

yes please add minign RIGS for the minignbarges atleast, they have rig slots as well so they should beable to have minign rigs for them insted of just the minign drone rigs ___________________
