Im geting started with research agents on one of my alts and I will gladly pay you for the following answers. I know these answers are probably burried somewhere, but i looked throug the stickies and couldnd find it. Be sure to put your mains name down, isk to the first people to answer each question fully
Question 1 (10 Million): Whats the easiest way to get up standings fast. Im willing to bribe or otherwise take shortcuts. I would do normal missions but I have zero combat skills.
Question 2 (5 Million) I've heard of a thing with courrier missions irght now, that they are bugged. Can I use this to build standings quickly ?
Bonus (20 Million) : Can you lay out a plan to get access to level 4 research agents as fast as possible, relativly step by step ? Looking for Caldari Starship Engineering OR Rocket Science.

Answer: Cosmos Missions. Sorry no bribing.
Question 2 (5 Million) I've heard of a thing with courrier missions irght now, that they are bugged. Can I use this to build standings quickly?
Answer: What courier missions? You mean the Noob thing Agent thing? Then you can but with the giving corporation, not with the faction, at the end you get a large faction increase.
Bonus (20 Million) : Can you lay out a plan to get access to level 4 research agents as fast as possible, relativly step by step ? Looking for Caldari Starship Engineering OR Rocket Science.
Answer: Lookup the best Agent, whatver corporation he is part of. Run missions for the corporation like crazy.
Good Luck.
P.S. This is what I did for my ALT.
I made him run missions in his Capsule. He would warp to the spawn Point and I would come up with my Cerberus and blow up the rats. Rats leave him alone because he is int he capsule, but they still spawn.

Edited by: Deschenus Maximus on 27/11/2006 01:45:38 1) If you can't fight, do courrier/trade missions in a chain and raise your Social skills (connections specifically).
2) Courriers aren't bug as far as I can tell.
3) Easy: Raise Charisma, raise social skills, get indus, do courriers like crazy. Easy! :-)
Edit: Alternatively, get a buddy who's combat oriented. You accept the mission, he does it, you end the mission. You get the standing boost and the money. FOR THE EMPEROR!

Cosmos missions make standings go up faster than regular missions ? Are they do-able with no combat skills ?
As for courrier mission, isnt there a bug where they take only 1m3 ?

COSMOS are heavily combat-oriented, AFAIK. As for couriers, I think this has been fixed, as my level 4 courrier require you to move between 2000 to 6000m3 of cargo. Maybe the level 1s are like that, but I don't know. FOR THE EMPEROR!

Yes, there is indeed. Distribution agents give courier missions. If you can find distribution agents for your research corp then this covers q3 on how to quickly gain standings too.

- by running Cosmos missions you can raise your faction standings faster than doing regular missions. - if you choose RD corp correctly, than you can run few important Cosmos missions for them and raise your standings fast. For example, if you looking for Caldari RD, than choose Lai Dai. Originally by: Montaire

Surprisingly, about 50% ( or maybe more) of Caldari cosmos missions are courier, however you do need decent combat skills, because all cosmos missions are storylines ( sequence of 2-5 missions, where some are courier and some combat) Originally by: Montaire

It's been fixed.

Answer 1: Your first job is to check which faction you have best standing with. If you got very low/bad standing with caldari than you should not waste your time with them. Now if you sorted out what faction you got best standing for than you need to figure out how much money you are willing to invest in your character to get the jobs done. First of all, you need connections skill trained to lvl 4/5. This will give you an instant raise in reputation of 16%/20% of what you dont have. You are aiming for a corperate standing of atleast 6 which means you need to have atleast 5 basic standing with the corperation that you work for. If you start from scrap, you will need to do one mission to get a basic standing which will instantly raise your standing to 2. From that point on you need to new missions.
Now comes the dission. Its skills vs time. Couriers missions take far longer than kill missions, especially in an overpowered ship. You can do easier hauling missions in a crow, which makes it fast enough to be efficient, but bigger hauls need bigger ships and usually this takes time and time is not the thing you want to use much I recon. If you do kill missions in a ferox with basic skills for lvl 2 and raven for lvl 3 than you will go through kill missions in no time. So train heavy missile skill and train to BC and BS. During this time you will be able to grind your reputation up and when you technicly could start lvl 4 missions you might be able to do it solo. Spending money and training time cuts down time off doing missions.
When you get to lvl 4 you just hire some missions runner to do the mission for you. You accept the mission send the agent runner on its way and you keep the reward and the standing increase. Lvl 4 missions get you the best result.
Make sure though you do the missions for LaiDai for these have the most high lvl R&D agents of caldari I believe.
Answer 2: Yes you could and no you cannot do that anymore.
Answer 3: technicly see answer 1. . Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

First get Social and Connections as high as possible, and complete the Caldari tutorial agent mission. This should put you at >1 standing for Caldari faction.
OK, so use eve.grismar.net to find the target agent: in this case Panakiya Nakkilen of Lai Dai corporation is the best Caldari Starship Engineering agent. (1m for that, thankyou)
Then find some courier agents (if you've not got combat skills): again eve.grismar.net, preferably all in the same system. This is not so good with Lai Dai, but you can start with Karas Tsurvalen in Haajinen XI - Moon 9 Warehouse and work through the two L2s in Tamo V - Moon 9 Factory. There are also two level 3 agents in Haajinen. Once you have access to more than one Lai Dai agent run multiple courier missions simultaneously, using a second account or a noob hired for the purpose. (5m for this, thankyou)
Normal courier missions work, although a high percentage of them are for small packages short distances for low rewards. Skip those if you can unless you're also interested in faction standing.
