Hey all, I've been looking for an up to date HS mining fit for a retriever, I'll -usually- be above 0.5.
Veldspar/Scordite is usually what I go for.
Also curious about a good LS fitting to for when I do mining ops with the corp :)

If you are going to pay attention or don't care about being ganked just fit it for max yield, if you are not going to pay attention or care about being ganked then the best fit is a tanked procurer.
It concerns me that you are in a mining corp yet you feel the need to come here to ask for fits. Any corp worth being in should be providing you with help including fits.

If you only want veldspar and scordite, avoid 0.5 to 0.7 (I think) systems, and stick to the 0.8 to 1.0. These systems are avoided by gankers most of the time. For the fit, you can go full yield with 3 mining laser upgrade in the low and a survey scanner in the mid, with rigs to mining drone (yield or speed). If you want a fit that you can use everywhere in highsec, put a damage control in the low and shield resistance to thermal and kinetic (in the mid and the rigs).

Here is one that has some tank:
[Retriever, Ore Balanced]
Mining Laser Upgrade II
Mining Laser Upgrade II
Damage Control II
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Modulated Strip Miner II, Veldspar Mining Crystal I
Modulated Strip Miner II, Veldspar Mining Crystal I
Medium Processor Overclocking Unit I
Medium Anti-Thermal Screen Reinforcer I
Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Swap out the DC2 for another mining laser upgrade if you're not worried about suicide gankers. Downgrade to Mining Laser Upgrade 1 if you don't have enough fitting skills. I'd use a venture or procurer in low-sec or whatever your fleet recommends. You might have to stagger start your strip miners if you don't have good cap skills.

Forget about tank. Maximise your yield. If you gimp your yield, you're basically "ganking" yourself.
A yield-fitted Retriever can make perhaps 15m isk/hr in a hedbergite anomaly. If tanked, you might lose 20% yield, or 3m / hr. After 10 hours of mining, you've lost 30m of potential profit, enough for another Retriever. You've basically ganked yourself. |

Curious... If this is a Corp mining op, why a retriever instead of say a covetor? Different tools for different jobs.
Me, personally though I wouldn't even bother with a tank on a retriever. Your best tank is not getting ganked in the first place. |
