Women Gamers of EVE (WGoE) is an ingame chat channel created for IRL Women gamers only.
It has been around since 2003, and has since become an active chat channel where female EVE gamers can come and chat about anything EVE or non-EVE related.
Please check out our EVElopedia page with further details about this channel. This article is filled with the history of WGoE, and contact details of the channel admins.
I would like to invite all women gamers in EVE to join the Public Channel "WGOE=Public" and chat to us there. Please note, this is a public channel so anyone - including men - are allowed. In order to get into the private "WGoE" channel you will then need a voice interview with one of the channel moderators.
The channel has been rapidly growing the last couple of years, and we would love to see this trend keep going!
If you know any IRL women that play EVE, please get them to check out the EVElopedia article and to contact us ingame.

Voice chat is my guess. I don't quite get why so many guys can't seem to think of a girl playing a game as a normal person. I mean, if you want to meet a girl, real life is waiting when you step away from the monitor. I play EVE more to get away from life than anything else.
On a more random note, there was a lady in my ArmA2 clan who could do things with an A-10 Thunderbolt II that you wouldn't believe. I was usually the helicopter pilot, but I never could fly a jet. Not sure where she went after the clan disbanded though.

I would caution other girls from joining this group. The main toon running it Athena allows her personal issues to affect the game and has shown my self an other girls that you can only stay around your friends in channel and build new contacts and ppl you can relate to if your willing to be bullied controlled sworn at and called names. I really hope another group starts that truely is a haven for all girls in the game where no one gets sworn at and booted due to an admin throwing all their toys outta the pram .
