Hey, I made a question a few days ago about why the hell the sentry drones doesnt shoot the targets being in their optimal shooting range. And I heard that they dont when the TARGETS are not in players drone control range!! Its like: you cant turn on the afterburner because you dont have any more free space in your cargohold!! So maybe sb will take this problem and solve it? Sentries can be pretty cool if they will be fixed...

Sentries are great - provided you are prepared to put a few modules on your ship to use them.
In particular - drone link augmenter - to increase the range from your ship at which drones can shoot things. And Omnidirectional Tracking Link(s) to increase tracking and range on the sentries.

No, it's more like "you can't tell your drones to attack something unless it is within your drone control range". Doesn't matter if the drone you are telling is mobile or not. Pralay |

Sentrys or other Drones is not important in this. Extreme Example: Pack 6 Drone Link Augumentors in the Highslots of a Domi and you get 120 Km aditional Controlrange to your Scoutdronelevel. (LV4 Scouts = 40 km) So you could sent "normal Drones to an Enemy 160 km away, or aktivate Sentrys on a Target 100 km from them. Btw, in the above Exampel you could be 160 Km (Controlrange) away from Sentrys and Activate them on a Target 100 km away, so (theoretically) you could be 260 km from the fight and still attack.
Optimal Range of the Drone tells you how far it can shoot if you have the Controllrange Skills or Modules. (Btw: All Sentrys can be activatet on Enemys from 0 - 100 Km away and they will try to shoot him. But at 0-8 km Sentrys will only hit Battelships, 8-15 Km they will hit webbed Frigs and Cruisers (Garde)(use 14 Km Webber), (Tracking Bonus from Omnidirectionals)above that use the appropriate Sentrys for their Optirange.
Above 50 Km (Opti for Warden Sentrys) the Range Bonus from the Omnidirectionals comes into play. 1.2 or 20 percent for each Module. If you have two fittet you get an Optirange of 70 Km for Wardens, falloff is added. So you can Expect good Kinetic Hits up to 80 km, above 85 km a Hit is pure Luck
Optimal Range and the increase with Omnidirectionals If you Fly a Domi and will use Sentrydrones, always pack 2 Omnidirectional Trackinglinks and minimum one Dronelink Augumenter. (Better two or Three). I Instapopped Frigs at 80 KM with Wardens and actually did Hit things at 95 km.(Dronesharpshooting adds to Optimal Range of Sentrys)
Sentrydrones 4, Drone Sharpshooting LV 4 and Drone Interfacing 5 should be trained. Scout Drones LV 4 minimum.
PS: In think I found some "easy" Explanation: Drone Control Range is the Range the Drone can "see" its Target to attack, Not your Range for the ability to Control the Drone. GrnŻe Damir
